Tutu Tuesday in Clamart, Île-de-France, France #tututuesday

G'day, lovelies! It's your girl, Amelia, back with another instalment of my Tutu Tuesday adventures. This week, I'm jetting around the world, all the way to charming Clamart, nestled right near Paris in the Ile-de-France region. This week, I'm channeling my inner Parisian and indulging in some classic tutu fun.

Let's be honest, there's just something undeniably chic about a tutu. They're not just a symbol of grace and elegance on the ballet stage; they're a powerful statement piece. From the dreamy layers of tulle in a romantic, classical style, to the modern, bold designs that are so hot right now, there's a tutu out there for every taste and occasion.

The French, they have an unmatched style, you know? Their flair for the dramatic, that sense of sophistication, it all spills out in their take on dance. In the ballet studios of Clamart, I was blown away by the commitment to detail, the passionate training, and the absolute mastery of these lovely dancers.

They have this whole different vibe in ballet in France, a really interesting blend of classical traditions and a modern spirit of pushing boundaries. I even got a chance to catch a little Ballet du Rhin performance. Can we talk about the incredible choreography and the absolute mastery of those ballerinas?!

I tried a few tutu styles myself while I was exploring Clamart, of course. Here are a few faves from my French tutu adventures:

  • The Classic Tutu – I mean, this one never goes out of style! This type of tutu, a staple in any ballet wardrobe, gives that princessy, ethereal feel with tiers upon tiers of soft tulle. You feel like you can take flight.
  • The Romantic Tutu - I’m a real sucker for a Romantic Tutu! Think layers and layers of tulle in romantic pastel shades that just billow so beautifully. It’s like something out of a fairy tale. For my photoshoot, I chose a dreamy pink tulle Romantic tutu. Let’s just say that my Instagram was ablaze with love for this beauty!
  • The Modern Tutu: Here we’re talking statement pieces - bold shapes, contrasting colours and textures. There are no rules for this one. I rocked a black and silver modern tutu and felt empowered and super chic. This tutu is anything but timid, it’s ready for the runway.

#tututuesday Clamart Edition:

  • Explore Clamart's vibrant dance scene! Find a studio that sparks your interest or watch a performance that takes you on a dance journey! I'm all about supporting the local talent and celebrating the art form in all its beauty.
  • Find your inner ballerina. I'm not talking about getting a perfect arabesque just yet (though we all aspire to that, right?), but find the rhythm in your step, channel some grace, and experiment with how to make a tutu your own.
  • Don't be afraid to mix it up! Forget all the boring fashion rules! If you want to rock a Romantic Tutu with combat boots or a modern tutu with a simple t-shirt, go for it! Let your personal style shine.
  • Indulge in some French style - A picnic in a park with a classic croissant is an absolute must! You could also find a quaint cafe and enjoy a glass of French wine. Don't forget the beret to complete the look! The style of the Parisian femme fatale is one that we can all learn from!
  • #tututuesday, always! You don't need a fancy costume or to be in France to celebrate Tutu Tuesday! Even at home, a pair of leggings, a skirt, or a fun little dress can channel the tutu spirit.

So, there you have it, my darlings! I’m feeling absolutely inspired by my Clamart adventure. I've met wonderful people and seen so much talent! As for me, I'm headed back to Australia soon, ready to channel this Parisian vibe, one tutu step at a time. Keep an eye out for my next Tutu Tuesday adventures!

Ciao, from your French-infused, tutu-loving Amelia!
