As you know, #tututuesday is a worldwide phenomenon where dancers (and the rest of us with a penchant for all things twirly!) celebrate the magnificent tutu. This iconic piece of dancewear embodies the magic of ballet and all its breathtaking grace, and frankly, who doesn't love a bit of tulle?
Now, as an Australian ballet dancer who's been blessed to travel the world, I've seen a heap of tutus. And let me tell ya, they are like snowflakes - each one totally unique. In France, the tutus are a real sight. You know that Parisian chic? Well, it definitely spills over into the dance world. Think, perfectly fitted bodice with a generous layer of tulle flowing like a river of silk. It's enough to make your heart go aflutter, even if you’re not a dancer, mate. Here in Saint-Herblain, the local ballet company has a whole selection of tutus that I've been dying to get my hands on. Think graceful classical tutus with those delicate layers and swishes, then we’ve got tutus with the bold colours that you would normally associate with a Mardi Gras parade, then finally a splash of romance with pastel colours.
