Tutu Tuesday in Alfortville, ÃŽle-de-France, France #tututuesday

G'day, lovelies! It's your girl, Lily, back with another fabulous post about my love for all things ballet and fashion! This time, I'm channeling my inner Parisian ballerina with a trip to Alfortville, ÃŽle-de-France, France, to experience a side of tutus I never knew existed.

So, let's talk tutus. For the uninitiated, tutus are the quintessential ballet garment - they're basically like a princess's party dress but made for swirling, leaping and landing on pointe! The beauty of tutus is their versatility: you've got the traditional Romantic tutus, fluffy and voluminous, perfect for delicate and dreamy choreography, then there are the contemporary tutus, tighter and streamlined for more athletic movements, and everything in between.

My journey began in the heart of Alfortville. It's a little-known town with an amazingly vibrant dance scene, a true hidden gem! You'd think it'd be Paris that holds all the amazing dancers but no way! Even in Alfortville, I met up with a group of local ballet dancers who were excited to show me their favorite spots.

First, we hit the oldest dance supply shop in Alfortville. Imagine this - floors stacked high with leotards, tights, and even custom tutu-making services! Talk about a dream come true! They had every type of tutu you could imagine: soft pink tutus that you see in the classics, those sparkly, colourful contemporary tutus you see in shows like "Moulin Rouge" (my fav!), and some very sleek modern tutus. I got a real kick out of checking out how all the tutus were made, with layers and layers of tulle, ribbons, and so much sparkle. It felt like magic!

We hit a charming café in the centre of the town with some French pastries that were basically works of art, and then the real fun began. These ladies weren't just any dancers; they were true fashion enthusiasts. We explored Alfortville and the surrounding streets. With my new friends in tow, we snapped pictures by the Seine River, where the Eiffel Tower sparkled in the distance - the ultimate Paris backdrop. In this setting, tutus became a celebration of femininity, elegance and joy!

The best part of my visit to Alfortville was seeing how tutus truly connect people. Whether you're a professional ballerina or someone just trying out dance for the first time, there's a sense of community and passion that comes with wearing a tutu. I witnessed the passion firsthand as my newfound Alfortville pals shared their dance experiences, each tutu story a journey of self-expression, grace and grit.

So there you have it, my #tututuesday adventure in Alfortville! It wasn't just a visit to France, it was a chance to dive headfirst into the world of ballet, fashion and everything in between.

So, whether you're a ballerina, a fashionista, or just someone who appreciates a good dance, keep those tutus close! Until next time, remember that wearing a tutu can make any day a #tututuesday, anywhere in the world.

And don't forget to tag me in your #tututuesday pics! I'd love to see your style!

XOXO
