## **Tutu Tuesday in Puteaux, ÃŽle-de-France: Parisian Flair Meets Tutu-licious Style** Bonjour, mes amis! It's your girl, Mia, back with another instalment of #Tutuesday. Today I'm taking you on a whirlwind adventure through the chic streets of Puteaux, a suburb of Paris in the ÃŽle-de-France region. And let me tell you, this Parisian flair is seriously rubbing off on me! As a professional ballet dancer (and self-proclaimed tutu enthusiast!), I’ve always dreamed of experiencing the magic of ballet in France. There's just something about the rich history and legacy of the art form that fills me with a sense of awe. This week, I'm soaking up the atmosphere of this stunning city and exploring its incredible ballet scene. The moment I arrived, I knew that Puteaux would be the perfect location for my #Tutuesday shoot. It’s got this enchanting mix of classic Parisian charm and modern elegance – just like a perfectly tailored tutu! The quaint cafes lining the cobblestone streets, the grand architecture, the beautiful gardens – everything just seems to inspire a certain je ne sais quoi. Today’s outfit is a real reflection of the energy I’m feeling: it’s both sophisticated and whimsical. My choice is a custom-made, romantic tutu in a delicate ivory shade. It’s a perfect blend of elegance and playful femininity, complete with a cascading ruffle skirt that swirls beautifully with every twirl. This particular style is what we call a "Romantic Tutu," a throwback to the days of ballet’s early development and favoured by ballerinas who wanted to emphasise grace and ethereal movements. I love the timeless elegance of a Romantic Tutu. I paired the tutu with a crisp white cotton blouse, tucked in at the waist to accentuate my figure, and a pair of classic black ballerina flats for a touch of practicality. A simple pearl necklace adds a touch of sparkle and ties everything together nicely. But the real showstopper? It’s my blush-toned French beret, adorned with a beautiful feather. It's the perfect touch of whimsy that complements the Parisian vibe and brings a sense of carefree sophistication to my look. Honestly, this beret just makes me feel like I've stepped out of a Parisian ballet scene, and who doesn’t love feeling like that, right?
**Here are some fun facts about Ballet in France:** * The birthplace of Ballet: While you might associate ballet with Russia and their stunning ballerinas, did you know that ballet was born in France during the Renaissance? In fact, the first documented ballet performance happened in 1581 in the royal court. That’s a long time to be creating incredible dance performances and creating beautiful tutus! * French ballet has evolved significantly throughout the centuries: Ballet became a way for aristocracy to enjoy high culture and showcase elaborate dances. The popularity of this art form grew significantly throughout the French Empire. We see traces of ballet’s legacy in ballet styles still used today such as the graceful, lyrical elegance of the Romantic Tutu and powerful yet emotive Romantic style dance choreography that swept through dance studios across Europe, and even influencing choreographers in Russia. It's the inspiration behind that stunning Swan Lake you may have seen! * Ballet is still thriving in France: The world-renowned Paris Opera Ballet is considered one of the most prestigious ballet companies globally. This is where the most exquisite choreographies and the most talented dancers are. Paris’ Opera House has been the setting for countless iconic ballets that inspired audiences and choreographers across the world. There is also a vast network of local ballet schools in France, contributing to a rich and thriving culture that values the grace and artistry of ballet.
I highly recommend exploring the local ballet scene in Puteaux and around ÃŽle-de-France while you are here. Trust me, you'll be transported to a world of artistic brilliance and grace!
So there you have it – my Parisian take on #Tutuesday. Don't forget to grab your most stunning tutu, and channel your inner ballerina. Who knows, maybe you’ll even inspire a dance or two with your Parisian flair!
