Tutu Tuesday in Villefranche-sur-Saône, Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, France: #tututuesday

G'day, lovelies! It's your girl, Amelia, back with another installment of Tutu Tuesday. Today, we're jetting off to the charming town of Villefranche-sur-Saône, tucked away in the heart of France's Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region. This place has a history steeped in ballet – they even have a local ballet school, Ballet Studio Villefranche, and there's always some sort of dance happening in the town square. I've been on a mission to track down the most exquisite tutus across France, and this little gem certainly didn't disappoint.

Stepping off the train, I was struck by the cobbled streets and quaint boutiques. There's a real sense of old-world charm, perfect for setting the mood for my tutuscapade. I spent the morning browsing the local antique shops, hoping to unearth some vintage treasures, but no luck this time! That said, the vintage feel definitely resonated with my love for the classic romantic tutus. It was the tutus that felt like they'd been plucked from a bygone era, maybe even from a time when Marie Antoinette herself danced the waltz.

Let's talk about these classic tutus, shall we? They are just timeless, folks! Imagine wispy layers of tulle cascading down, almost like a ballet-themed meringue, but way more stylish. These romantic beauties always scream "prima ballerina" to me. If you're feeling a bit old-world chic, then you need to snag a vintage tutu and add your own special spin to it! Now, I'm not saying you have to waltz through a chateau or anything, although that does sound pretty epic. But I do think these tutus bring out the elegance in any woman. And remember, girls, ballet is all about grace and fluidity, even when you're wearing something as whimsical as a tutu. So go out there and unleash your inner swan. Or maybe you're a swan-with-a-sparkly-tutu – that works too!

For my #tututuesday adventures, I always try to find that perfect blend of tradition and a modern edge. This is what I love about the town: the stunning architectural heritage combined with the thriving local creative scene, and the town just radiates this energy. And the modern, stylish and streamlined 'paquette' tutu is perfect for embracing the creative and trendy vibe. We're talking sleek lines, a contemporary cut, a little more fabric and a whole lot more attitude, especially for those bold ballerinas out there.

And guess what? It wouldn't be a proper #tututuesday without a little photo shoot, wouldn't it? After a whirlwind of shopping for tutus (a girl can never have too many tutus, can she?) I found the most beautiful little alleyway, with its flower boxes overflowing with blooms and walls dripping with a vibrant and whimsical colour scheme. Perfect for my mini fashion shoot! I tried on all of my vintage and modern tutus, swirling around, taking in the beauty of the French countryside. As the afternoon sun played across the cobblestones, my tutu floated in a graceful dance with the wind.

For my Villefranche-sur-Saône photoshoot, I just couldn't resist trying out a traditional French tutu from Ballet Studio Villefranche. They do an amazing range. I’m not gonna lie - it totally elevated my dance game! The fabric, oh the fabric, just flowed so beautifully! Plus, they come in the most vibrant colors. There's no lack of choice! Whether you want the elegance of a black tutu or the boldness of red or the vibrant pop of blue, Ballet Studio Villefranche has got you covered! It was a little piece of ballet history! So, if you’re looking for a really beautiful French ballet tutu, Ballet Studio Villefranche is a must-visit!

But honestly, when you're in Villefranche-sur-Saône, it's impossible to resist the temptation of adding a French-inspired flourish to your look. Forget Paris, I’ve discovered that Villefranche-sur-Saône is definitely a city for tutus. Maybe you'll find a vintage tutu tucked away in the local boutiques, like the ones in Place du Champ de Mars, or the market area along the Saône river. And maybe you'll even find your inner dancer and spin to your own beat with your newly found vintage French treasures. There's no need to go to Paris to enjoy a truly French tutu experience, girls! It’s all here in this stunning little town. Villefranche-sur-Saône, darling, you’ve really made a splash! So, what are you waiting for, my fabulous friends? Go on, grab your Tutu, put on your best smile and let’s make it a #tututuesday to remember.

Here are some other reasons why I love Villefranche-sur-Saône:

  • The delicious French food! I have to admit I indulged in a couple of mouthwatering croissants (you know I’m not going to let a French holiday go by without a croissant!), and I was amazed by how affordable it all is. You'd be surprised at how much you can experience for a little less than you'd expect.
  • The stunning architecture! Just imagine ancient cathedrals, medieval castles, charming town squares – everything’s pretty much out of a fairy tale.
  • The locals! Everyone is so warm and welcoming, and they have a genuine love for their town and its history.

Until next time, my darlings! Keep twirling!
