Tutu Tuesday in Pontoise, ÃŽle-de-France, France: A Ballerina's Parisian Adventure #tututuesday

Bonjour from the City of Lights! Okay, I know I said I'd be posting about my new pointe shoes last week, but you know what they say – life gets in the way! Today, I'm taking you on a whirlwind tour of Parisian charm, French ballet, and, of course, tutus! 🩰

You guys, it's been an absolute dream! I'm so lucky to be in this magical city for a few weeks, taking in the cultural vibes and soaking up all the beauty. And what better way to explore than with a little #tututuesday inspiration?

I've been living my best ballerina life here, taking classes at a few different studios, trying my best to pick up a bit of French. Let me tell you, learning ballet vocabulary in French is definitely a challenge – especially when it's coming out of my mouth! 🤣

Anyway, as you can probably tell from my Instagram stories, I've been indulging my love for tutus. Paris is definitely the place to be for finding exquisite designs, especially if you're a fan of the classic romantic style. And I've definitely been feeling all those romantic feels, strolling along the Seine River with the Eiffel Tower in the background. Talk about inspiration!

Speaking of tutus, let's talk styles! Here are a few of my favourite things I've spotted:

  • The Romantic Tutu: Think layered tulle, delicate embroidery, and a soft, ethereal silhouette. This classic tutu has been all the rage here, and it's easy to see why. It’s like a cloud of beautiful, gossamer fabric! ☁️ It’s definitely making a statement in the French ballet scene.
  • The Modern Tutu: Don’t let the name fool you, these are just as stunning! These are shorter and more sculpted, with clean lines and contemporary elements. I've been seeing them a lot in shows and at the studios – it's a really exciting look! It’s kind of edgy but elegant at the same time. 😎
  • The "Ballet School" Tutu: A super cute look – think short tutus with colourful bands at the bottom and some sparkly embellishments. I picked up a new one for my classes – perfect for looking super adorable at the barre. 💖

I’m really loving the French style here. There’s a bit of sophistication and chicness that definitely gives the tutu a different edge! 💫

Of course, it wouldn’t be a trip to France without indulging in some amazing pastries and a visit to the Louvre! 🥐 It’s amazing to think that I'm dancing in the city that gave birth to some of the most famous ballet techniques, like the Cecchetti method and Vaganova technique! It's pretty incredible to feel a connection to all the history and the legacy of ballet here. And that sense of history and culture – that definitely feels like an inspiration to make my dancing even better! 💫

Oh! And did I mention the food? The croissants, the cheese, the wine - it’s just all divine! I have been eating my weight in carbs and enjoying the relaxed, leisurely vibe of Paris. I guess that’s one thing we don’t get back in Australia – long, slow meals enjoyed with friends or loved ones.

I have so many stories I want to share, about everything from street style to cafe culture – but I think you’re all going to have to wait until next time for more! But let’s talk tutus! I just bought a new "Ballet School" tutu, but with some Parisian flair – so cute! 💕 If you’re ever in Pontoise, you definitely need to check out this ballet studio (you’ll need a little Google Translate though!) – it’s an old-world, quaint building. 😍

So that’s my Tutu Tuesday for today, guys! I hope you've enjoyed this little journey with me through the streets of Pontoise, a magical part of ÃŽle-de-France. It’s a lovely area. You know how much I love a #tututuesday! Until next time, remember to stay creative, have fun, and keep your passions strong! 💃 🇫🇷 💕 #tututuesday
