Tutu Tuesday in Cachan, รŽle-de-France, France: #tututuesday

G'day, fellow dance enthusiasts! It's your girl, Mia, back with another fashion-forward, tutu-tastic post from the enchanting streets of Cachan, รŽle-de-France, France! Now, I know what you're thinking - tutus in Paris? Absolutely! While the City of Lights might be known for its chic boutiques and street style, there's a whole other side to Parisian fashion that's waiting to be explored - the world of ballet! And believe me, when it comes to tutus, they don't mess around in this town.

This week, I found myself stepping into a fairytale (pun intended!) as I took a class at the renowned Centre de Danse de Cachan. Now, you might think that the French have a serious, no-nonsense approach to ballet, and don't get me wrong, they certainly have a strong emphasis on technique, but these guys have got some serious fun in their hearts too! I waltzed into the studio with my trusty bag of tutus, excited to see what my French ballet brethren were rocking.

First up, I couldn't help but be captivated by the traditional **"Romantic tutu,"** a classic for a reason! These ethereal tutus are just a dream! Imagine tiers of delicate, sheer fabric billowing around you as you leap across the stage, making it look like you're gliding on air. They truly capture the ethereal and romantic spirit of classical ballet.

Then, my eyes landed on some of the more contemporary creations โ€“ the **"demi-tutu"**, with its slightly shorter skirt length, is definitely more practical for modern and contemporary choreography, but still gives you that quintessential tutu silhouette. This was particularly popular amongst the Cachan dancers, showcasing a balance between traditional ballet and modern movement. They weren't afraid to express their own style, and the variety of these contemporary tutus was fantastic!

Speaking of contemporary, I stumbled upon some **"bodice" tutus** - you know, the ones where the skirt is just a wispy swirl around the hips? These beauties give you freedom of movement without sacrificing the drama, making them a top choice for contemporary dance styles and a lot of experimentation.

Honestly, it's hard to go wrong with any type of tutu! I found myself completely engrossed in this ballet playground - the energy, the artistry, the passionate dancers - it was absolutely breathtaking. The dancers here at Cachan have got some serious moves, their movements are precise and captivating. I was particularly impressed by their jumps, graceful pirouettes and effortless fluidity - a true testament to the dedication of French ballet!

The atmosphere at the studio was just buzzing! I chatted with some of the dancers after class, swapping stories about our favourite tutus, our passion for ballet, and a bit of good ol' gossip too, of course! It felt like being back in a familiar, supportive environment โ€“ you know, like that warm and fuzzy feeling you get after a killer class with your ballet buddies back home.

Before I left, I decided to take a little wander through the quaint streets of Cachan, stopping in at some of the local shops, taking photos and of course, showing off my best tutu twirls! It was a classic Tuesday afternoon adventure with an unexpected touch of ballet magic!

You know what they say, "France is for lovers!" and I'm absolutely smitten with Cachan and the enchanting world of ballet it holds! I mean, can you even resist a classic tutu, let alone a ballet class in a picturesque Parisian suburb? This was definitely a #tututuesday to remember. I'm already planning my next visit to explore more of France's beautiful ballet studios!

If you ever find yourself in the area, make sure you visit Cachan. You never know who you'll meet - a fellow tutu-enthusiast, a master choreographer or a beautiful ballerina - the possibilities are endless!

Stay stylish, stay strong and keep dancing!

Until next time,

Mia
