Tutu Tuesday in Guyancourt, รŽle-de-France, France #tututuesday

G'day, lovelies! It's your girl, Chloe, from the land down under, bringing you the latest from my Parisian adventure! This week, I decided to embrace my inner ballerina and join the world of #tututuesday in Guyancourt. Now, you might think it's a bit odd, a Aussie lass all decked out in a tutu in France, but hear me out! This little town near Paris, it's got some hidden gems โ€“ a whole lot of lovely folks who are passionate about ballet. It's like the Parisian spirit has this hidden pocket of enthusiasm for the art form! They might not be known for tutus and leaps on the global scene, but this week, it was a whole different story.

I arrived at this small studio just off the main square, ready to embrace Tutu Tuesday. You know me, I always go all out! I had on my new powder blue tutu, a vintage style that twirled with every step. They call it the "romantic" style, because of the soft tulle that falls all the way down. This ain't your basic pancake tutu, it was all about a little bit of drama. And drama is my middle name! Well, okay, Chloe-Grace, but it still works. Anyway, the atmosphere at the studio was electric! There were these two ballerinas from the local Guyancourt company, they had a "classical" style of tutu on, these long flowing skirts with those lovely bodice embellishments. We all had our differences in our style choices, but everyone had the same twinkle in their eye.

As we danced, I realised, tutudays in this part of the world were just about celebrating the spirit of ballet - the grace, the power, and of course, the joy! It wasn't about professional ballerinas and high-end performances. This was a real grassroots, love for ballet affair, something I deeply resonate with, being an Australian ballet enthusiast.

Some of the moves they showed me, they were incredible. We worked on pirouettes โ€“ that's the spins, you know, those are tricky but fun to learn. And some of the leaps - those are just a joy! We got to chat a bit too. You know how it is with dancers - we can talk about our leaps, our jumps, our little steps all day long, it never gets old.

Before I left Guyancourt, we took a group photo. There we were โ€“ a group of ballerinas, in our tutus, with big smiles. It's funny how tutus have this power, right? No matter who you are, from the youngest dancers to myself, a travelling ballerina from Australia, they have this magical power to bring us all together. And if there was ever a Tuesday I wanted to spend in a tutu, it was in Guyancourt, a place I never thought I would love ballet quite so much.

Here are some things you should try for your own tutu Tuesday in Guyancourt:

  • Visit the local ballet studio. They are absolutely welcoming and passionate. And they have these little tea parties after class! How cute is that?
  • Take a walk around the park, Guyancourt has some beautiful greenery. It's nice to work up a little sweat, stretch those muscles, then enjoy a park setting, you know, soak it all in.
  • Don't forget to grab some macarons on the way out, I couldn't go to France without trying a little bit of pastry!

Remember lovelies, tutu tuesday isnโ€™t about perfection, itโ€™s about embracing the joy of dancing and letting your inner ballerina shine! And while Guyancourt is all the way across the world for me, I have a feeling it's just around the corner for you! Now, go get yourself a tutu and join in on the fun, because remember - every day is tutu Tuesday, somewhere!

Until next time! Love, Chloe.
