Tutu Tuesday in Sucy-en-Brie, ÃŽle-de-France, France #tututuesday

G'day, dance lovers! It's your girl, Chloe, back with another post from my Euro adventure. This week, I'm swapping out my Sydney harbour views for the charming cobblestone streets of Sucy-en-Brie, a suburb just outside Paris. And guess what? It's Tutu Tuesday, baby!

I know what you're thinking: Tutu Tuesday in France? It sounds a bit fancy, right? But believe me, these Frenchies are all about the ballet, and I'm not just talking about the legendary Paris Opera Ballet. They've got local ballet schools popping up everywhere, and this week I stumbled across a little gem in Sucy-en-Brie – the "École de Danse de Sucy."

So, what's a Tutu Tuesday like in Sucy-en-Brie? Picture this:

  • The sun's out, casting a warm glow over the historic buildings.
  • I'm strolling through the bustling market square, taking in the fresh bread smells and the vibrant colours of local produce.
  • But then, a melody fills the air, and I see it – the École de Danse de Sucy. The window displays are filled with colourful tutus – classic romantic tutus, airy tulle tutus, even some cheeky short tutus.
  • And inside, the young dancers are all about the je ne sais quoi – every step imbued with Parisian flair.

I've always been drawn to the history of ballet in France. From the graceful steps of Marie Camargo to the elegance of the Bolshoi Theatre, ballet has a rich tradition here. But seeing it at a local level in a charming town like Sucy-en-Brie is truly something special.

I popped in to the École de Danse de Sucy for a chat with the instructors and got the lowdown on their tutu-themed Tuesdays. They're not just about the clothes, although the tutus are undeniably beautiful. It's also about community, passion, and celebrating the art of dance, even in its simplest form.

They explained that it all started as a bit of fun, a way to encourage the kids to express themselves. Now, the "Tutu Tuesday" concept has blossomed. The instructors tell me they're even getting requests from local businesses for performances, and the students love the chance to step out and showcase their talents.

I think this Tutu Tuesday really brought out the French joie de vivre. Even the passer-by, stopped to take it all in. They were snapping pics and cheering for the young dancers. I couldn’t resist getting in on the action myself – and what's a ballet blogger in a French town without a quick tutu twirl?

So, to my fellow tutu lovers, I say this: No matter where you are in the world, celebrate Tutu Tuesdays! It's a reminder that ballet, at its core, is about passion, expression, and the magic of movement. And who knows, you might just stumble across a local ballet school like I did in Sucy-en-Brie – and find your own Tutu Tuesday joy.

Till next time, keep those toes pointed and remember – dance is for everyone! #tututuesday #SucyenBrie #IledeFrance
