Tutu Tuesday in Bussy-Saint-Georges, ÃŽle-de-France, France

G'day lovelies! It's your girl, Chloe, here, bringing you all the hottest happenings from the world of ballet – and today, it's all about the tutu! It's #tututuesday, and I'm taking you on a whirl through the cobbled streets of Bussy-Saint-Georges in ÃŽle-de-France, where ballet has a rich history and a whole lot of style.

I landed in Paris last week and was itching to get my feet into some serious tutu action. So, naturally, I made a beeline for Bussy-Saint-Georges, a town just outside Paris, where the ballet scene is absolutely popping. Here in Bussy-Saint-Georges, tutu styles run the gamut – you've got your classic Romantic tutus with those billowing layers, your contemporary pieces with a minimalist vibe, and the absolutely stunning neo-classical designs that just ooze elegance and drama. They even have the sweetest little ateliers where they craft bespoke tutus for those who are after something truly unique. And let me tell ya, there are some serious talented sewists in this town!

So, what exactly makes tutu Tuesdays in Bussy-Saint-Georges so special? Well, the vibe, darling, is absolutely electric. Everyone's out and about in their best tutus, soaking up the Parisian sunshine. It's a real celebration of ballet and a reminder that even the smallest town can have a thriving creative scene.

I stumbled upon a street market right in the heart of the town square. The stallholders had everything from hand-painted tutus to handmade tutus to custom tutu creations. It was pure tutu heaven! I picked up the most gorgeous pastel-hued, tiered tulle tutu from a little boutique. I can already picture myself swirling in it under the Eiffel Tower. Now that's what I call a tutu moment.

After my shopping spree, I wandered around the streets, soaking up the atmosphere. There were little cafes filled with tutu-clad dancers, the chatter was a mix of French and English. It was truly a multicultural melting pot. There were also performances all over town – little pops of ballet on the street corners and at the bus stops. You never knew what you were gonna get. There were ballet flash mobs, tutu workshops, and even a impromptu performance of the Swan Lake pas de deux by two ballet students in a quaint park! It felt like a beautiful ballet wonderland. I gotta hand it to them, they do ballet with an undeniable sense of passion and joy here.

Now, a true tutu-loving gal like me couldn't visit a town known for its tutu scene without checking out its local ballet company. The Bussy-Saint-Georges Ballet is world-renowned and boasts an incredible roster of talented dancers. And wouldn’t ya know, their season finale happened to be on tutu Tuesday. You wouldn't believe the exquisite tutu styles, they ranged from graceful to bold and breathtaking.

If you're ever in France, darling, don't even think about skipping a visit to Bussy-Saint-Georges, especially on a tutu Tuesday. This town has an unmistakable joie de vivre, and the ballet is just the cherry on top. I was literally inspired by everything and everyone. You know that saying "you never know where your next great adventure will take you?" Well, this week, my adventure took me to Bussy-Saint-Georges and its thriving tutu culture.

Tutu Tips

  • Always choose a tutu that fits your body well. No one likes a tutu that’s too tight or too loose. Get creative with tulle colours – they range from traditional to bold colours, and the more tulle the better!
  • Remember to accessorize. A tutu deserves to be seen! Some of my fave tutu accessories are ballet slippers, statement earrings and my fav ballerina bun with flowers.
  • Don’t be afraid to experiment! It's a tutu - have fun with it, girl! A little tutu transformation can do wonders!

I'm off to get my hair styled – I’m headed out to try a local crêperie. It’s rumored they have amazing salted caramel crêpes and you know how much I adore sweet treats! Later, darlings! Don't forget to share your #tututuesday snaps! XOXO Chloe.
