Tutu Tuesday in Combs-la-Ville, ÃŽle-de-France, France #tututuesday

G'day, darlings! It's your gal, Chloe, back from a whirlwind tour of Europe! And what a treat it's been. Not only have I been devouring croissants and baguettes with reckless abandon (sorry, Mum!), but I've also had the chance to soak in the stunning ballet culture here in France. You guys know I'm a big fan of the graceful twirls and expressive leaps of ballet, but being here in Paris has really upped the ante, I reckon! 🩰

And wouldn't you know it, this past Tuesday, I found myself in Combs-la-Ville, a suburb just outside of Paris. Let me tell you, I'm living my best life right now – and Tutu Tuesday was just the icing on the cake. 😄

As a dancer myself, I just couldn't resist the allure of a traditional French ballet. The sheer romanticism of the performances is just magical, but the beauty and style of those costumes… wow!

I can’t go past the classic Romantic tutu, those ethereal wisps of tulle swirling and catching the light – pure fairytale vibes! They were paired with stunning, detailed bodices that were just begging to be photographed. It was the kind of outfit that would have even a fashion queen like Coco Chanel jealous! 🤫

But it wasn’t just about the elegance. I also got to experience the pure energy of contemporary dance in Combs-la-Ville, too. These were all about sharp lines and athletic movements. They were as thrilling to watch as a football match, even without a scoreboard. ⚽️

I found myself fascinated by the contemporary dancers’ outfits. The more modern styles featured different cuts of the tutu – I mean, I’d never even dreamt of a tutu as pants or a dress before! They were definitely more minimal in style than the romantic tutu, and let’s be real, their designs felt so edgy. Some even went as far as incorporating different textiles, like silky fabrics and sheer, shimmering fabrics – seriously, talk about avant-garde.

But beyond the outfits themselves, the most inspiring thing was the incredible artistry and passion I saw on stage. These dancers are true artists, pouring their heart and soul into every performance. Their love for ballet truly shone through – and their dedication is something I'll always strive to emulate.

This wasn’t your usual "dance recital," either. The energy was absolutely electric, especially amongst the locals who filled the whole auditorium. They were truly captivated by the artistry, laughing and crying right along with the stories these incredible dancers told through their moves. Seeing them so moved and touched really reinforced how deeply ballet resonates with the human experience, regardless of culture or language. It was seriously moving! 🥺

Tutu Tuesday in Combs-la-Ville truly blew my mind. From the grace of traditional ballet to the edgy coolness of contemporary, there was a whole world of dance waiting to be discovered right here in Paris, and the local audience definitely didn’t disappoint! So, whether you’re a hardcore dance aficionado or just a casual observer, this is a must-see if you’re ever in the area.

Just try not to get swept away by all the beauty and grace on stage. I definitely had to take a moment to catch my breath. ✨

And hey, while you’re at it, be sure to grab some croissants and baguettes – trust me, you won’t regret it!🥐🥖

Catch ya next time, my lovely lot! Chloe
