Tutu Tuesday in Saint-Cyr-l’École, Île-de-France, France: A Tutu Tale for #tututuesday

G’day, fellow dance lovers! Your favourite Aussie ballerina is back with another fabulous #tututuesday blog post. This time, I’m sharing my Parisian adventure in the delightful suburb of Saint-Cyr-l’École, a gem located just outside of the French capital.

This week's Tutu Tuesday is all about finding the perfect tutu for your dance class! My Parisian travels took me to the charming studio of “L'Atelier de la Danse," nestled in the heart of Saint-Cyr-l’École. As I stepped into the studio, I was captivated by the elegant vibe and the air of artistry.

My inner tutu enthusiast was instantly excited by the gorgeous collection of tutus in various styles – there was something for every taste. They had a dazzling range of classical tutus – picture billowing layers of tulle, like the clouds in a perfect ballet dream. I was immediately drawn to the timeless beauty of the classic "Romantic" style, with its delicate layering of soft tulle.

But wait, there's more! I found the most whimsical, contemporary "Modern" tutus with sleek, structured designs. Imagine, flowing and layered, almost like a dancer’s liquid sculpture – breathtaking!

Now, if you're looking for something practical, "Training" tutus were all there. Perfect for daily practice sessions, with shorter, easier to move in, layers of tulle and soft mesh, allowing complete flexibility in those elegant pirouettes and grand jetés.

And as every serious ballerina knows, the choice of colour for your tutu matters. The L'Atelier de la Danse selection was a rainbow delight – think ivory, blush, midnight blue, even the brightest, most fabulous fuchsia – all so inspiring!

My shopping spree couldn't end without a classic tutu in soft, heavenly rose. It was absolutely perfect! The layers flowed so gracefully – I can’t wait to twirl it in my next performance.

Stepping out into the bustling streets of Saint-Cyr-l’École with my new tutu safely tucked in my dance bag, I felt the allure of the City of Lights washing over me. Being surrounded by this iconic Parisian energy, the perfect tutus and the chance to witness some local French ballet talent, made it one of my favourite tutu-filled Tuesdays.

I love discovering ballet schools in every new city I visit – the culture, the atmosphere, the love for dance, it's truly magical. If you’re in Saint-Cyr-l’École, make sure to visit “L'Atelier de la Danse” for your next tutu inspiration.

Until next time, keep on twirling!
