Tutu Tuesday in Saint-Gratien, Île-de-France, France: #tututuesday

G'day, darlings! It's your favourite Aussie ballerina, Chloe, back with another instalment of my fashion-forward, tutu-tastic adventures! This week, I've taken my pirouettes all the way to Saint-Gratien, a charming town nestled in the heart of Île-de-France, just a hop, skip, and a jump from Paris.

Now, you know how much I adore a good tutu – those tulle layers are just *so* chic and dreamy! And France, with its rich ballet heritage, is definitely the place to be for tutu inspiration. From the romantic, flowing tulle of the Romantic tutu to the dramatic, structured silhouette of the Classical tutu, there's a tutu out there for every dancer (and fashionista!)

As I explored Saint-Gratien, I couldn't help but notice how this town oozes Parisian elegance – cobblestone streets, quaint cafes, and, of course, an incredible ballet scene. It's clear that the love for ballet is alive and well here! There's even a fantastic ballet studio called *Ecole de Danse Saint-Gratien*, where local dancers are training their feet and bodies to perfect the art of classical ballet. Imagine the beautiful tutus they must have in that studio! It's making me seriously think about getting back into some serious dance classes!

Now, to my #tututuesday outfit. I knew I had to choose something that was both stylish and comfortable enough for a day of exploring. I opted for a classic black tutu that hit just below my knee – simple yet undeniably elegant. I paired it with a crisp white button-down shirt (tucked in, naturally), adding a pop of colour with a vibrant scarf, and completed the look with a pair of chic flats – because who needs to be a ballerina all the time, right?

One thing I really loved about this town was the local markets! They were bursting with fresh produce, local crafts, and the most incredible vintage clothing! I even managed to score a few ballet-inspired trinkets for my collection - some beautiful ribbons and vintage pointe shoe embellishments - I might be obsessed, what can I say?

To round off my day, I enjoyed a delightful picnic in the Jardin de l'Ile Saint-Gratien, soaking up the sunshine and watching children giggle as they chased each other around. What a perfectly lovely way to end a delightful #tututuesday!

My key tips for embracing #tututuesday:

  • Choose a tutu that flatters your silhouette and makes you feel confident. It doesn't have to be a traditional, on-stage tutu! Experiment with different lengths and styles.
  • Pair it with your favourite outfit and accessories to make it your own.
  • Remember that it's all about celebrating the grace and elegance of ballet, no matter your age or dance level.
  • Embrace the fun, feel the freedom, and enjoy yourself! That's what it's all about!

Till next time, keep those toes pointed, darlings! And stay tuned for more exciting #tututuesday adventures, straight from your Aussie ballerina!
