Tutu Tuesday in Chevilly-Larue, Île-de-France, France #tututuesday
G'day from Paris, my lovelies! I'm currently in Chevilly-Larue, a vibrant suburb in Île-de-France, and you wouldn't believe what I stumbled upon. A true gem – a tutu-loving community embracing #tututuesday with open arms! It's hard to resist a tutu, isn't it? The fluffy, twirly, just-so-perfectly-pink tulle, those tiny sequins, and a hint of ballet magic. Even on a regular Tuesday, it feels special to wear one. And believe me, I’m living my best life. In a tutu, naturally.
Now, you may be thinking: a tutu in Chevilly-Larue? That's unexpected! It may not be the typical Parisian scene, but this suburb holds a surprise. It's a ballet lover’s haven. They say there's magic in the air, and I'm experiencing it first-hand!
And, can you guess what the highlight of this Parisian adventure is? It's a gorgeous ballet school - Ecole de Danse de Chevilly-Larue. Not only is the school absolutely incredible - think huge studios with soaring ceilings and enough mirrors to be a Hall of Mirrors, the atmosphere is electric! These girls have it going on. I could spend hours chatting about the styles and types of tutus. Classical? Check. Romantic? Oh, definitely! And, a personal fave - the sassy, modern-day variations of this ballerina staple? They've got 'em!
- There are the traditional white tutus with their layers upon layers of tulle and delicate bodices. Those ones are perfect for a graceful Swan Lake or the ethereal Giselle.
- Then there are the slightly more modern ones, with their sassy, short lengths. More like a modern, fashion-forward tutu? And not just black or white - I spied tutus in gorgeous colours!
Here's a bit about the scene I observed: it’s a dance school, but you could just feel a connection to history, to those magnificent dancers like Sylvie Guillem. French ballet has this elegance and fluidity that's mesmerising. It’s been inspiring. I'm soaking up the ambiance. Every plie, every jeté – It's like poetry in motion!
So, there you have it! Who'd have thought that Tutu Tuesday in Chevilly-Larue would become a cultural highlight? It's a testament to how a little bit of fluff and twirl can bring a whole community together.
