Tutu Tuesday in Mont-Saint-Aignan, Normandy, France: A Ballet Bloggerās Dream
Bonjour, mes amis! I'm your resident Aussie ballerina and blog queen, and today Iām kicking off my Tutu Tuesday in the charming little town of Mont-Saint-Aignan in Normandy, France! You know I'm all about spreading the ballet love, and this little pocket of French magic is a hidden gem for tutu aficionados.
Firstly, a little background about me: Iām an Aussie girl, born and raised with the beach in my veins and the twinkle of a thousand stars in my eyes. Iāve been dancing since I was a tiny tot, and I've been living in Europe for the last few years. I love to share my passion for dance and all the glamorous bits and bobs that come along with it, like those gorgeous, whimsical tutus!
**The Enchantment of Mont-Saint-Aignan:**
Mont-Saint-Aignan, a mere hop, skip, and a jump from Rouen, is steeped in history and brimming with charming cafes, art studios, andā¦ you guessed it, a fab little ballet studio! The atmosphere here is pure French chic, you know the kind that has you picturing long lunches, pastries, and beautiful cobblestone streets. But even more exciting for a ballerina like me is the dedication to dance. I mean, thereās nothing like watching the artistry unfold right here in the heart of Normandy!
**Ballet Dreams and Parisian Chic:**
Every week, Iāve been popping into āLes Ballets de Normandieā here in Mont-Saint-Aignan, it's an absolute delight! And this week, it was Tutu Tuesday, a day I've been looking forward to! I love seeing the dancers in their beautiful tutus and feeling the pure joy and passion in their movements. It's been such a buzz, the whole town is just so incredibly supportive and excited about ballet! The little kids watching in awe with wide eyes? You can feel their inspiration shining.
**My Favourite Tutu Tales:**
Letās talk about tutus - those fairytale creations that are literally the stuff of ballerina dreams. I have a whole Pinterest board dedicated to them, because letās face it, tutus never go out of style. For todayās #tututuesday in Mont-Saint-Aignan, I was all about a dreamy romantic tutu! Soft, billowing layers of tulle in a lovely pastel blue, think Monet's "Water Lilies" mixed with a French country cottage. The type that would make any little girl wish they could wear it to school!
But that wasnāt the only gorgeous tutu spotted! Some of the dancers were wearing classical white tutus. We're talking pure elegance, like the dancers in Swan Lake. The beautiful satin and layered tulle give a classic princess feel that makes every pirouette a magical moment. There was also this amazing, bold, red tutu. Can we talk about the fire and passion it embodies?! It's almost like a flaming heart beating to the rhythm of every plie.
And Then There Was The Workshop!**
In the heart of the Mont-Saint-Aignan studio, we gathered for a fun tutu workshop! The ballet teacher was amazing, full of energy and inspiring ideas. We experimented with fabric draping and gathered fabric, and learned a little about how they are designed. Turns out creating a tutu is almost an art form itself.
The ladies there are absolute gems ā full of enthusiasm, smiles, and a bit of friendly rivalry when it comes to which tutu is the most fabulous. We even tried making a few āTutu-me-upā hairstyles to match the tutus. It was definitely a memorable afternoon filled with lots of laughs, glitter, and dance moves that would make Swan Lake jealous!
#tututuesday: A French Fantasy **
I must admit, the entire experience made me fall even more in love with Mont-Saint-Aignan. There's something magical about ballet in this historic region of France!
