## **Tutu Tuesday in Saint-Fons, Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, France!** #tututuesday Hey darlings! It’s your girl, Elle, back with another dose of tutu magic! I’m currently living the dream in France, exploring all the beauty and elegance this amazing country has to offer. Today, my journey led me to the charming town of Saint-Fons, Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, and oh my, you wouldn’t believe the tutus I spotted! **A Tutu Symphony** First up, I was captivated by a breathtaking collection of classical tutus at the Saint-Fons ballet studio, Ballet du Lac. It’s such a stunning space, with high ceilings and light streaming in from giant windows. They’ve got everything from romantic, flowing tulle tutus, with that gorgeous bell shape, perfect for ballets like Giselle, to the dramatic, multi-layered, almost architectural ones for Swan Lake, each detail a work of art. I have to admit, I spent a good half hour just twirling around the studio, channeling my inner ballerina and feeling every ounce of joy and freedom those tutus inspired! Speaking of feeling free, who doesn’t love the iconic, layered Romantic tutus for La Sylphide? They are like ethereal clouds that simply dance around you, giving you the most delicate and graceful look! **Modern Meets Classic** While classic tutus will forever hold a special place in my heart, I’ve gotta give a shout out to the modern tutu designs popping up at "Atelier La Plume", a small boutique in the town square. Their designs were a complete departure from the classic silhouettes. I even saw one made from this gorgeous emerald green material, completely unstructured but somehow still utterly elegant, with the most incredible feather detail! Modern tutus, especially those using unexpected fabrics like metallics and stretch materials, bring a fresh perspective to ballet. The possibilities are endless, really. Think: futuristic tutus with shimmering textures, edgy creations with sharp angles and even playful designs using colourful prints! I’m already scheming up ways to incorporate a touch of modern design into my own dance wardrobe. Maybe a splash of sequins on the skirt, or perhaps a sleek, asymmetrical design? **Local Flair** Stepping out of Atelier La Plume, I stumbled upon a little cafe with the sweetest old lady behind the counter. She served me a delectable crepe filled with hazelnut cream – oh my gosh, it was divine! But she was even more delighted to chat about ballet, you wouldn’t believe it, her grandson was a professional dancer! Her eyes sparkled with pride as she told me stories about his early years, about his first ballet class, about him dancing his heart out on stage, even showing me some adorable photos. Seeing her passion, her enthusiasm for her grandson, and for dance in general, just rekindled my love for the art form. Sometimes, the most heartwarming moments happen unexpectedly, and this chance encounter made this Tutu Tuesday so much more special. **More Than Just a Skirt** My Saint-Fons journey wasn’t just about spotting tutus though. It was about seeing the beauty and passion that dance inspires in a town filled with charming alleyways, sun-drenched cafes, and locals who simply ooze warmth and kindness. There’s so much to explore here – the historical sites, the vibrant street art scene, and of course, the delicious food! Oh, and the wine! Don’t even get me started! I'm savouring every moment of this French adventure. Tutus are much more than just a garment, darlings. They embody elegance, grace, and passion, and that’s a message that resonates across continents. It's why I feel so lucky to be experiencing ballet in a whole new light here in France. So, where can you find your next dose of tutu magic? I can’t wait to hear where your tutu travels take you this week! Remember to tag me and use the #tututuesday hashtag for your fabulous tutu-fied looks! Bisous, Elle xoxo
