Firminy, Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes: Tutu Tuesday in a French Wonderland!

G'day, my fellow ballet enthusiasts! It's your girl, Tilly from the Land Down Under, bringing you another exciting edition of Tutu Tuesday. This week, I'm ditching the Aussie sunshine for a little French adventure. Yep, I'm in the gorgeous town of Firminy in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region of France.

You guys wouldn't believe how much ballet history there is here. It’s like walking through a scene from La Sylphide, with every street corner radiating artistry and grace. The architecture here, man, it's seriously something else. Modern, whimsical, and totally in sync with my own ballerina aesthetic. It’s no wonder ballet has a long and prestigious history in this town.

My Tutu Tuesday adventure kicked off at the *Conservatoire National de Musique et Danse*, a stunningly beautiful space for dancing and performing. I couldn’t resist whipping out my favorite tutus for a quick shoot - we’re talking a classic romantic style, all layers of soft tulle and pretty, flowing lines. Talk about feeling like a fairy! Of course, I couldn't resist grabbing a quick snap of my reflections in the mirrors - I love capturing the magic of Tutu Tuesdays on camera.

But wait, there's more! After my dance session, I had the opportunity to catch a *Ballet de Lyon* performance. It was a stunning interpretation of "Giselle", showcasing amazing technique and artistry. Watching those French dancers – so precise, so captivating, just mesmerising! They were making those romantic tutus fly, with each spin and leap leaving me breathless.

And now, it’s time to share some tutu inspiration from the streets of Firminy: - **Tip #1:** French girls love colour. Don’t be afraid to be bold with your tutu colours. I rocked a hot pink tutu today that made a statement! - **Tip #2:** It’s all about the details in France. A few little touches like a beautiful ribbon, a jeweled brooch or a bit of floral trim can take your tutu from ordinary to extraordinary. - **Tip #3:** French women don't shy away from mixing things up. Throw on a stylish, textured beret over your tutu or pair your tutu with a gorgeous scarf - think a bold pattern like polka dots. It's a fun way to show your personality and play with the look.

After the ballet performance, I stumbled upon the most delightful little café right in the heart of Firminy. They served the most delicious, divine raspberry tart, it was just the perfect treat to indulge in after an evening of pure ballet bliss.

You know, even though the Parisian ballet world might steal the limelight, there’s something incredibly charming about discovering the magic of ballet in a place like Firminy. It's truly magical. As I make my way back to Australia, I'm already dreaming about my next tutu adventure.

Keep an eye out on my social media pages for even more #TutuTuesday snaps from my trip to Firminy! And, of course, be sure to tag me in your own Tutu Tuesdays - I love to see you all embrace your ballerina style.

Now, don’t forget to get your tutu on and dance to your heart’s content! See you next week, my ballet beauties.

Bisous! 💋

Tilly
