Tutu Tuesday in Verneuil-sur-Seine, Ile-de-France, France #tututuesday G'day lovelies! It's Tutu Tuesday and I'm back with a bang, this time from the charming town of Verneuil-sur-Seine in the heart of Ile-de-France. Now, I've danced all over the world, from the glittering stages of Sydney Opera House to the intimate studios of London, but there's something truly magical about ballet in France. The history, the culture, the sheer elegance...it's like stepping into a fairytale! This week's tutu journey started with a visit to the *Ecole de Danse de Verneuil*, a little local ballet school with big dreams. They're fostering the next generation of ballerinas, and I had the absolute pleasure of giving them a quick tutu workshop. We talked everything from the history of the tutu (trust me, there's more to it than meets the eye!) to the different styles that exist today. From the traditional, romantic *tulle* to the daring and dramatic *pancake* styles, there's a tutu for every ballerina out there. The young dancers were absolutely brilliant - so much enthusiasm and talent! They even managed to pull off a couple of cheeky *fouetté* spins in their cute little tutus. You know I love seeing the next generation embracing the art of ballet. And talking about tutus, there were some seriously chic looks today, everything from delicate, *pastel-toned tulle* to the bold and dramatic *black tutus* with dramatic feather details. While I'm on the topic of ballet in France, let's talk about one of my all-time favourite places to watch the art unfold - *L’Opéra Garnier*. The grandeur of this place, with its golden decorations, soaring ceilings and breathtaking ballet performances... it just takes your breath away. Seeing a classical ballet like Swan Lake there feels like a rite of passage for any serious ballet aficionado. Let's get back to my French adventures, After the workshop, I decided to explore the local market for some souvenirs and yummy treats. I stumbled upon a charming little bakery tucked away in a quiet corner. Let me tell you, those fresh baguettes and pain au chocolat were pure heaven. Of course, no trip to France is complete without indulging in the local cuisine. We tried the classic coq au vin, which was as delicious as ever, and savored some creamy crêpes for dessert. Speaking of indulgences, let’s talk about tutus! I couldn't leave Verneuil without snagging a few gorgeous tutu designs from *Atelier Chardon*, a local dressmaker who's become famous for creating breathtaking tutus with handcrafted details. The quality is just stunning! I’m going to show off these beautiful pieces in my upcoming *ballet video*. Be sure to subscribe to my YouTube channel to catch all the latest tutus and dance moves. Verneuil-sur-Seine has completely captured my heart!
