Tutu Tuesday in Épinay-sous-Sénart, Île-de-France, France

G'day lovelies, and welcome to my #tututuesday post! I'm so excited to be sharing this adventure with you. You see, this week, I've traded the sunny shores of Sydney for the cobbled streets of Épinay-sous-Sénart, a charming suburb of Paris. And trust me, my wardrobe made the trip. 😜

Now, anyone who knows me knows that I'm a bit obsessed with tutus. They're just so whimsical, elegant and, let's be honest, totally comfortable. (Even the tightest pointe shoes have nothing on a fluffy tulle skirt, am I right?)

So, you can imagine my delight when I stumbled across this amazing little ballet school here in Épinay. It's called "École de Ballet de la Seine", and they're seriously dedicated to bringing ballet to the community, which is something I truly admire.

What makes this school even cooler is their passion for a variety of tutu styles. This is no "one size fits all" kind of establishment! You've got your traditional Romantic tutus, all billowing and ethereal. But you've also got the contemporary tutus – super sharp, modern and a real statement piece. There's something for everyone, no matter your ballet style or your inner ballerina's personality. 😎

The first thing I noticed as I walked in was the energy - just buzzing! Kids of all ages, from tiny tots taking their first steps to graceful teens preparing for professional careers, were all soaking up the ballet magic. It was incredibly inspiring.

I got a chance to chat with the founder of the school, Madame Moreau. She's this kind and elegant woman who just radiates passion for ballet. I learned that her whole mission is to create a space where anyone, regardless of their background, can find their passion for dance.

For my #tututuesday special, I got to try out a few different styles. Let me tell you, those tutus feel amazing - like a swirling dream come true! The quality is seriously high, and they move so beautifully as you pirouette and leap across the stage. Honestly, it's an experience that words can't truly express - you've just got to feel it.

I was so lucky to meet the students – they’re such a dedicated, fun and friendly bunch! We had a quick chat about everything from their favourite ballet routines to their favourite brands of pointe shoes. It felt like I was talking to old friends!

What I love about ballet in France, and Épinay-sous-Sénart especially, is its incredible sense of community. The locals love supporting local talent, and they take immense pride in sharing their passion for dance with the world.
