Tutu Tuesday in Chanteloup-les-Vignes, ïle-de-France, France

G'day lovelies! It's your gal, Tilly, reporting live from the charming town of Chanteloup-les-Vignes, just outside Paris! Today, I'm on a mission to experience the magical world of ballet in France, and what better way to celebrate than with a Tutu Tuesday extravaganza? I mean, tutus and Tuesdays are basically the perfect combo, right? I’m even rocking my very own pink tulle tutu today – it's like a cloud that you can twirl in! Honestly, I can't remember the last time I felt this much twirl-power in a single tutu.

Now, I've been a ballet girl since I could toddle. (Don’t worry – no accidental pirouettes into the baby food jar. My mum’s got mad reflex skills. ) But since moving to Paris, I’ve discovered that French ballet is something special. From the delicate grace of the dancers to the grand, romantic style of the performances, there's just a certain je ne sais quoi about it that truly makes your heart leap.

My first stop in Chanteloup-les-Vignes is the Conservatoire de Danse ( basically the local ballet school ). The conservatory looks amazingly European from the outside – all grey stone, elegant columns and leafy trees. It feels a bit like stepping back in time. The interior doesn't disappoint either. Wood panelled walls, a beautiful wooden staircase, and light pouring in from high stained-glass windows . Honestly, I think I could study ballet in a place like this all day and night, without getting bored.

The conservatory offers ballet lessons for students of all ages – from adorable little ballerinas in fluffy pink tutus to teenagers working hard to hone their technique in longer, flowing tutus like my own today. (Don’t get me started on those beautiful fluffy skirts, though. My current tutu collection needs some serious upgrading! There’s definitely a new skirt in my future…)

Even if you can't catch a show at the Conservatoire de Danse you should still pop by for a look and maybe have a chat with some of the students who love the magic of ballet. Talking with them, I've been so impressed by their passion and enthusiasm. For many of them, ballet is more than just a hobby. It's a lifestyle and a way of life.

Tutu Tips for the Fashionable Ballerina

I can’t finish my tutu-tastic Tuesday without giving you some insider tips. So here's how to make your tutu game strong!

  • **Own Your Look** - I know, you're probably thinking a tutu is way out there for casual wear. Think again! With the right tutu, you can make your outfit feel super chic and playful.
  • **Go Short or Go Long** - I mean it – go big or go home! Whether it’s a short, flirty tutu or a floor-length whimsical one, tutus give you instant star power. (And yes, you’ll totally be turning heads !)
  • **Get Colourful! ** Tutus come in a huge range of colours, so you’ll be able to match your mood or style. Need a pop of pink? Red to light your fire? It's a tutu world out there!
  • **Mix and Match - Tutus work with so many other clothes. Wear them with a sleek tee or a long sweatshirt for a relaxed vibe or dress them up with a smart blazer. You really can’t go wrong here!

After this little trip around Chanteloup-les-Vignes (and some extra tutu-inspiration! ), I feel like a new ballerina myself. Next time you’re in the mood for a tutu ( let's face it - it can happen any time!), make it a Tutu Tuesday. Then tell me all about your amazing day with #TutuTuesday.

Keep twirling, beautiful people,

Tilly
