Tutu Tuesday in Pérols, Occitanie, France - #tututuesday
G'day from sunny France! As an Aussie ballerina living in this picturesque corner of the world, it wouldn't be right for me to skip out on a little #tututuesday, would it? 😜 Today, I'm embracing the sunshine and sharing some tutu-tastic snaps from my adventures in Pérols, Occitanie. Let's be real, it's the perfect location to spin, twirl and channel my inner ballerina – even if it's just for a photoshoot. 😉
Pérols itself is a charming little town nestled in the south of France, with the Mediterranean Sea glistening in the distance. Now, while the region may be known for its delicious food, beautiful landscapes, and even the odd French bulldog parade, it's not exactly a hub for ballet. Don't get me wrong, there's a small local ballet studio tucked away on a cobblestone street, which definitely deserves a shoutout! They're nurturing a budding ballet community in Pérols, but I'm still itching for the thrill of seeing a big performance here. I might just have to be the one to kickstart that movement! 😄
So, as a tribute to this gorgeous corner of the world, I've decided to break out the tutu, naturally. And what a tutu it is! Imagine a confectionary dream, like a cloud spun from spun sugar, billowing with the slightest breeze. A classic, elegant style with a romantic touch, all in the palest shade of blush pink. To say it was the perfect fit for my day spent wandering the quaint streets and snapping photos in front of vibrantly coloured houses would be an understatement. The way it caught the sunlight? Absolutely stunning! 💥
Now, for those of you who haven't seen my latest blog post (you can check it out here - I highly recommend you do! 😊), let me give you the lowdown. It's called 'French Charm: Tutu Tales from the South of France'. In it, I delve into the joy of ballet, its connection to Parisian fashion (which obviously influenced the design of my tutu), and how I found my own unique spin on expressing my love for dance in this unique part of France.
What else can I say? It's Tutu Tuesday and we're rocking it! For me, it's all about bringing a little sparkle and joy to my day and the world around me, and this tutu has been my sidekick. I even managed to do a few pirouettes (more like awkward flailing, but we won't mention that!), feeling the breeze tickle my legs and the sun warm my face. Ah, the simple pleasures, eh?
Oh, before I go, a little peek into the backstage world. Today's outfit featured a gorgeous white satin bodice, complete with a delicately laced back, accentuating my dancer's silhouette. Paired with the blush-pink tutu and some strappy white sandals (essential for conquering these charming cobblestone streets), I felt like a vision of French femininity – and perhaps a hint of ballerine chic? Just a touch of the "Je ne sais quoi," I'd say! 😉
Remember, the most important thing about Tutu Tuesday is embracing that inner ballerina. Whether it's whipping out a pair of pointe shoes, practicing a jeté across your living room (or your local boulangerie, let's be honest), or just finding ways to inject some sparkle and grace into your daily life, there's no wrong way to celebrate. 😉
From Pérols, with love (and a whole lotta twirls!),
