Tutu Tuesday in Ablon-sur-Seine, ÃŽle-de-France, France #tututuesday

G'day lovelies! This Aussie ballerina is back with a fresh dance story from the enchanting streets of France! This week, I’m taking you on a little journey through Ablon-sur-Seine, in the charming ÃŽle-de-France region. This little town, nestled amongst the Seine’s bends, is a delightful mix of history and charm, but for me, it was all about finding that perfect tutu inspiration!

Now, let’s get down to business. Tutu Tuesday is all about embracing the beautiful ballet garb, and this week, I’m all about the Romantic Era vibe. Imagine dreamy tulle and lace, a whisper of softness, and a splash of colour – that’s the inspiration I got wandering around the little boutiques in Ablon. The streets were brimming with this sense of romance, with old buildings telling their stories and little cafes buzzing with the rhythm of life.

And you know me – I had to try on a few numbers! One tutu, a vintage number with layers upon layers of tulle and a touch of antique lace, truly captured my heart. I could practically hear the sweet whispers of Tchaikovsky as I twirled in that beauty! It felt like a dance from a different era – so delicate and enchanting.

But here’s the thing: even outside of ballet class, there's a magic to tutus! This town in France embraced its history in a way that made me see the grace and beauty of the past, even in the modern world. There’s a reason why this ballet fashion staple keeps popping up, year after year – it’s more than just a garment, it's a feeling, an inspiration. The way the fabric floats and moves makes me feel so light, so free.

Speaking of feeling free, I stumbled upon the most charming little dance studio in Ablon-sur-Seine. These studios are popping up everywhere, making it easier for budding ballerinas like myself to find that passion in new corners of the world! This one, run by a lovely Parisian lady named Marie, embraced a more contemporary approach to dance, mixing classical techniques with some fun and playful routines. We’re talking street dance, a little hip hop, even some jazz influences – the energy was incredible!

This was truly a Tutu Tuesday to remember – embracing the traditions of classic ballet in a modern French twist!

Now, for all the tutu lovers out there, I've compiled a list of "Tutu Tuesday" tips for embracing the ballet look:

  • Keep it classic with a traditional tutu – this one never goes out of style. I'm thinking pale pink or classic white for a touch of elegant charm.
  • Embrace a contemporary twist on the tutu – think modern cuts and fabric combos – maybe a bold colour with an asymmetrical skirt or a little embellishment. Experiment and have some fun with it!
  • Let your hair flow like a graceful ballerina! – a soft braid or bun always looks elegant and completes the ensemble.

Now, until next time, remember: dance your way to happiness. Au revoir from France!

xoxo
