Tutu Tuesday in Marysville, Washington, USA #tututuesday
G'day lovelies! It's your gal, Tilly, here, bringing you all the latest from my grand US adventure. I'm in the lovely little town of Marysville in Washington State. I've just returned from a day out with a local dance company, the Marysville Ballet Conservatory, and it's had me reflecting on the absolute beauty of ballet. Now, for all you budding ballerinas out there, let's chat Tutu Tuesday!
* I'm in love with how the ballet world embraces Tutu Tuesday! It's such a playful way to showcase the whimsical and graceful nature of our art. I saw a mix of classic styles – those gorgeous, multi-layered tulle masterpieces that make a statement! And of course, I can't resist mentioning the ethereal romantic tutus with the sheer panniers. I think my favourite was the sleek contemporary number one dancer Sarah rocked, all sharp lines and movement, proving that even a tutu can be bold.
* It’s amazing to me how tutu styles have evolved! The classical tutus, with their soft billowing skirts and their almost architectural shape are pure magic, you just have to love them! They're a dream to wear. But contemporary tutus show just how much range this staple piece can have.
* Speaking of range, did you know that my favourite brand for contemporary tutus is back in Oz? "Tulle & Tiara" in Sydney has been absolutely rocking it! So if you're a dancer who wants to add some edgy contemporary magic to your wardrobe, you have to check them out. I know I've got my eye on that incredible lavender "Swirl" design.
* And for you ballet fashionistas out there who might not know, "Tulle & Tiara" has an incredible collaboration with the "Sydney Dance Company" called “The Dancer’s Muse Collection.” These tutus are next level, combining bold contemporary designs with a classic touch.
Now, about my adventure with the Marysville Conservatory, I must tell you! I felt like I'd stepped right into a magical world of movement. It was captivating! Their students are a talented bunch with real passion for ballet! We spent a few hours talking about technique and style, and their passion really impressed me! I got to chat with some budding dancers, one young starlet named Jessica. She even gave me the lowdown on her favourite "Tutu Tuesday" look! Turns out she loves rocking a simple romantic tutu, the one that twirls and flows so gracefully, and I totally get why she does.
So there you have it, darlings, a bit of Tilly's Tutu Tuesday tale from the lovely city of Marysville. And you know what? Tutu Tuesday is about more than just tutus, it's about spreading that infectious joy of ballet, It's about encouraging the future generation to chase their dreams. And that's a message I'm proud to shout from the rooftops!
Catch ya soon lovelies,
Tilly! #tututuesday #balletinaustralia
