G'day from sunny Mareeba, Queensland! As you know, it's Tutu Tuesday, and my love affair with tutus knows no bounds. This week, I'm channeling a bit of that Aussie sunshine with a vibrant yellow tulle tutu. You can’t beat a bit of sunshine, especially in this beautiful state!
As a professional ballet dancer living in this incredible country, it's amazing how deeply ingrained ballet is in our Australian culture. From the cobbled laneways of Melbourne to the shimmering shores of Sydney, ballet captivates audiences of all ages. We're lucky to have world-class companies like the Australian Ballet and the Queensland Ballet right here on our doorstep, showcasing the art of classical ballet at its finest.
I remember my very first tutu – a little pink number from the local dance store, worn with pride at our school concert. And although tutus have evolved (and my taste in ballet wear, too), they still hold a special place in my heart.
