Tutu Tuesday in Strathalbyn, South Australia #tututuesday

G’day, darlings! It's your girl, Clara, back with another #tututuesday post, this time from the beautiful, historic town of Strathalbyn, South Australia. Now, you might be thinking, "Clara, Strathalbyn? Seriously?" And let me tell you, this small town, nestled in the Adelaide Hills, has a whole lot of charm and is secretly a fabulous destination for a tutu-wearing adventurer.

Before I dive into my adventures in tutus, I gotta confess something: I've got a bit of a love affair with tutus. I mean, who doesn’t love a good twirl? And when it comes to tutu styles, I’m a real sucker for the classic romantic, with its floaty layers and airy fabric. I’ve also got a soft spot for the more contemporary styles, which are all about sharp lines and interesting cuts. And for my daily walks, I've even started wearing these cute little tutus that look like ballet skirts! Who says tutu’s are just for the stage? I say, wear ‘em with confidence wherever you go!

So, back to my trip to Strathalbyn. We went to the Strathalbyn Markets. I was already in my “classic romantic" tutu, but the moment I stepped into those bustling markets, I knew I needed something a bit more, shall we say, 'practical'. So, I changed into a comfy little 'ballet skirt' tutu. Let's just say it was the perfect choice! Walking around the markets with my cute little tutu was definitely a conversation starter, I had loads of people stopping me to chat about ballet and all things tutu! It’s truly amazing how a little tutu can brighten someone's day.

You can’t talk about Strathalbyn without mentioning its beautiful heritage buildings. The streets were like stepping back in time, but in a stylish way. We strolled past the charming shops, some selling beautiful antique furniture, others offering unique jewellery. I was so inspired, I had to do a mini photoshoot. That old stone facade, paired with my little ‘ballet skirt' tutu, made for a perfect "gram".

After a bit more exploring, we decided to grab some lunch. Strathalbyn had a surprisingly trendy café culture. I’m not gonna lie, my "ballet skirt" tutu made dining a bit challenging (especially when trying to enjoy the local special: a gourmet pie!) But I embraced the challenge, it's all part of the adventure, right?

Next up was the iconic Strathalbyn Show. Honestly, I wasn't expecting much. But, this was the highlight of the day! People were so welcoming, friendly and genuinely fascinated by the 'ballet girl’ wearing a tutu in the middle of the show! The atmosphere was electric! And you bet your bottom dollar, I got some stunning shots in front of the Strathalbyn Show banners and marquees. My ‘classic romantic’ tutu floated in the afternoon breeze like a beautiful, airy dream! Seriously, guys, the memories of that afternoon will last a lifetime!

There were so many more incredible sights to see, delicious local wine to be sampled and adventures to be had. And you know what, you can totally do a 'Tutu Tuesday' tour of Strathalbyn! It’s an absolute haven for dance lovers, history buffs and, let’s face it, anyone who loves a little bit of fun and whimsy.
