Tutu Tuesday in Wentworthville, New South Wales

Hey everyone! It's your girl, Amelia here, back with another #tututuesday post. As you know, I'm a total tutu enthusiast, and Wentworthville, New South Wales, has been the perfect playground for my tutu obsessions.

Let's be honest, Sydney is brimming with stunning spots for a tutu photoshoot, and today I'm here to show you why Wentworthville is one of my all-time favourites. From the beautiful brickwork of the Wentworthville railway station, with its classic Victorian charm, to the lush greens of the Wentworthville Public School ā€“ seriously, who knew schoolyards could be so picturesque? ā€“ the possibilities for fabulous photos are endless!

Today's tutu is a showstopper. It's a vintage-style, powder-blue tulle confection, featuring a delicate sweetheart neckline and an extravagant, tiered skirt that practically dances on its own. It's the kind of tutu that would make even the most jaded ballet critic raise an eyebrow (and probably want to start doing pirouettes in the street, no judgement!). I mean, you've got to admit, a tutu this grand practically begs for a picturesque backdrop.

Now, when it comes to finding the perfect tutu, it's a whole vibe, right? Some people, bless their souls, are happy with a classic white tutu, maybe even a pink one if they're feeling adventurous. But let's face it, that's like wearing a plain black dress to the opera: it's safe, sure, but it's also utterly boring.

This is where my love affair with vintage tutus comes into play. Not only are they unique and totally timeless, they have a certain story about them, a touch of elegance and history. Think shimmering sequins, flowing layers of tulle, and exquisite embroidery details ā€“ these are tutus that have been worn by dancers before you, carrying a little bit of magic and that quintessential ballet glamour.

Iā€™ve been on a mission to find the perfect vintage tutu thatā€™s both elegant and functional. And let me tell you, Wentworthville is a treasure trove of amazing shops with a knack for vintage finds. I'm talking pre-loved fashion finds from another era, just waiting to be rediscovered and given a new lease on life. The perfect place to find vintage tutus!

My vintage-style powder-blue tutu definitely fit the bill. You know how I am, it had to be something special! I'm planning on wearing it to a ballet performance at the Sydney Opera House. Imagine the contrast, a vintage tutu, a symbol of balletā€™s rich history, on the grand stage of the Sydney Opera House. Talk about a clash of timeless and modern! Iā€™ll be sure to post a sneak peek.

Speaking of the Sydney Opera House, my tutu obsession isnā€™t just about the photoshoots and styling. Ballet in Australia has always held a special place in my heart. I remember attending my first ballet at the Sydney Opera House as a little girl ā€“ seeing the graceful movements, the ethereal music, the shimmering costumes, it sparked something in me. Ballet opened a world of artistry and imagination. Ever since then, I've been hooked.

And guess what? Australia is an incredible place for ballet! Thereā€™s a fantastic ballet scene across the country. From Sydney to Melbourne, and every town and city in between, Australia is full of talented dancers and world-class ballet companies, itā€™s amazing. But back to my original planā€¦ to show you why Wentworthville, New South Wales, is a #tututuesday dream! So let's get into it!

Hereā€™s a little sneak peek of my favourite #tututuesday moments from my day:

  • The Wentworthville railway station made for a fab backdrop! Seriously, who wouldā€™ve thought a railway station could look so glamorous?! My vintage-style tutu really brought a bit of old-school elegance to this classic location!
  • The lush greenery of Wentworthville Public School? Well, this spot made my vintage tutu pop, creating such vibrant and captivating photos. The grass was like a green carpet, and the sun created the perfect glow. Plus, the children were curious about my tutu. That made for some seriously cute pics!
  • My vintage powder blue tutu paired perfectly with the old-fashioned brickwork of the Wentworthville library. This spot had an amazing blend of history and chic, perfect for highlighting the unique beauty of the vintage tutu. I even managed to squeeze in some twirls ā€“ ballet isn't just for the stage, you know! The streets were buzzing with life and laughter. People stopping to give me a curious look or a warm smile, thatā€™s what makes it a true #tututuesday!
  • And you know me, no #tututuesday would be complete without a bit of silliness, right? The local park had an adorable playground, and I couldnā€™t resist striking some poses next to the slide and the swings! This tutu is about having fun, spreading some joy and showing off a bit of fabulous! I even got a couple of kids in their superhero outfits to pose with me. Those pics will go straight to my Instagram. The smiles on their faces ā€“ priceless!

But hereā€™s the best part ā€“ beyond the photoshoot fun, #tututuesday in Wentworthville gave me an incredible appreciation for this suburb!

Wentworthville isnā€™t your typical ā€œtourist spot.ā€ Itā€™s more like the hidden gem in the crown, brimming with a vibrant, community spirit, diverse cultures, and hidden pockets of historical charm. It reminded me that lifeā€™s a ballet, and itā€™s all about finding your rhythm in the everyday. I encourage you to step outside your comfort zone, explore the unknown, and discover new rhythms in the most unexpected places. Thatā€™s my #tututuesday message for you. Embrace lifeā€™s quirky ballet and express your personal style with confidence and fun! Remember, itā€™s not about where you are; itā€™s all about how you wear your tutu, darling.

Until next #tututuesday! Iā€™ll leave you with thisā€¦ find the tutus, find the passion, find your dance. Itā€™s all about finding joy in every single move and embracing lifeā€™s own little twirl, no matter where it leads.
