Tutu Tuesday in Lyndhurst, Victoria #tututuesday G’day darlings! It’s your girl, Ava, back with another post. This week we’re celebrating the absolute queen of dancewear: the tutu! It's been a hot minute since we've been graced with a sunny day in Melbourne (well, let’s be real, in Victoria), and today was a glorious break from the clouds. So, I thought it was the perfect time to unleash the #tututuesday magic right here in Lyndhurst. This week’s tutu game was strong, and we saw some serious styles out and about: * **Classic romantic tutu** - these floaty, dreamy tutus are always a classic and the quintessential look for ballet dancers. * **Short, sparkly tutu** – for the dancer who wants a little more sass and wants to bring the heat to her dance! * **Custom made tutus** - a really great option if you are a pro, as they give you a one of a kind look which is great for competitions and shows! * **Character tutus** – it was a full day of costumes on the streets of Lyndhurst! Some dancers embraced a little history with their costumes, bringing a touch of fairy tale to life with colourful, intricate and creative designs. We saw all types of tutu costumes from princesses to fairies! Let’s be real, a tutu is more than just a piece of clothing – it's a symbol. It's a symbol of grace, artistry, and passion, a symbol of ballet in Australia and the incredible community that embraces this passion and creates magic together. But it’s also about confidence, expressing yourself and owning your power. Every time I see someone wearing a tutu, it brings a smile to my face. In Lyndhurst, #tututuesday wasn’t just about tutus, it was a chance for the dance community to get together. We had coffee, talked about our favourite dances and even did a little improv on the street – just because! The power of a tutu to unite, empower and create a space for fun, is something truly unique and special. Speaking of power, one of the most amazing things about #tututuesday is that it breaks down any kind of “barrier.” You’ll see young kids, teenagers, grown-up dancers, and non-dancers getting involved with the day, and celebrating all things ballet, no matter the shape, size, or level! You could be rocking a perfectly made, traditional tutus or maybe a super fun custom tutu made of sequins and a rainbow of colours – the real message of #tututuesday is inclusivity, empowerment and that pure joy that you get from expressing yourself! If you're in the Melbourne area and looking to get involved with the dance community or even if you want to step out of your comfort zone and give tutus a try – come along to our next #tututuesday, you don’t have to be a dancer. Just wear your dancing shoes (and don’t worry if you don’t have them!) Until next time, remember, every day can be #tututuesday! Stay fabulous! Love, Ava
