Moama, New South Wales: Tutu Tuesday
G'day lovelies! It's your girl, Chloe, back with another blog post! I’m taking my tutu-wearing talents to the streets this week – no, seriously! We're talking Tutu Tuesday, y'all, and I am SO here for it. Now, let's get the obvious out of the way - I LOVE tutus. Every twirl, every flutter, every single feather boa...it’s a whole mood, and you already know it! You just have to try one! But seriously, before I get too lost in the fairytale world of tulle, let's talk about Tutu Tuesday.
Now, it's a known fact, Australia has got a rich ballet history, so why wouldn't it be a nation embracing the fabulousness of a tutu-clad Tuesday? That’s exactly what is happening, love. There's a growing movement on Instagram to embrace tutu-wearing in the most stylish ways possible, and let's just say Moama, New South Wales has totally embraced this!
If you’re anything like me and like to see what trends people in your city are embracing you will love this - I’m pretty sure the whole of Moama was sporting tutus! Everywhere I looked, I spotted this stunning combination of classic and contemporary! You know me - I like to do some reconnaissance and scout out the different types of tutus for you.
Tutus were everywhere
- The Classic Ballerina Tutu: Oh, how I love you, the timeless, the ultimate - the fluffy tutu! Some girls took the full ballerina route. You know the look - white, short, with a huge, fluffy skirt! It was incredible!
- The Tutu Dress: For those who like to blend the tulle with street style, I was all over these, and they were seriously hot in Moama! You know how I feel about dresses? These gals took it to the next level with this combo! These beautiful tutus were made into full, elegant gowns. This made Tutu Tuesday feel super glam.
- The Casual Tutu: Moama’s embrace of Tutu Tuesday felt fresh and modern and everyone was on-trend and killing it in the casual tutus! I’m not even going to lie – I was totally tempted to pick up one of these awesome casual styles, especially when I spotted those long tulle skirts – talk about being comfortable and chic all in one go!
- The Statement Tutu: And if you love to add some flair to your outfit and are always one for bold choices, this was your opportunity to shine. Bold prints? Absolutely! Neon colors? You betcha! If it's fun, colorful and full of life - we're here for it, and Moama really knocked it out of the park. So basically, anything goes for statement tutus - even polka dots, sequins, and frills! Oh and lets not forget feathers. It is Australia after all!
- The Mini Tutu: Don't worry, if you don’t want a big dramatic skirt you could totally make Tutu Tuesday work with a smaller more everyday look. For those not wanting to go full ballerina, Moama’s streets saw many mini-tutus used as fun accessories. I’m seeing so much potential for this style here, just waiting for a cute crop top to be thrown on the top of a mini tutu.

- Headbands with tulle and even tiny tutus for hair! Now we're talking!
- The Tutu Purse: These purses came in all shapes and sizes, and yes, people actually carried these around! There were small ones with a cute little tulle handle that had matching tutus, and for some extra style points, there were big shopping tote versions! These look perfect on the go, and they look good with every single look!
What I love about this whole trend?
- Confidence: Tutu Tuesday showed that fashion isn't about perfection; it’s about feeling comfortable and confident in your own skin. Even when your outfit screams ballerina, you can still channel your own personal style and do it with an infectious amount of confidence!
- Inclusiveness: Another great thing about this is that it’s not about having the most expensive tutu or the most beautiful look. Moama was a beautiful mix of everything: ages, body types and everyone felt free to make their personal interpretations! If you love a tutu, you’re in!
- Creative expression: It gives you the chance to go full-out glam in a way that’s fun and fresh. Everyone in Moama seemed to love showcasing their personality, whether it was through bold colours, accessories, or an on-trend vibe. It made a very fashion-forward statement!
And yes, it made for the most magical Tuesday! So get out there and unleash your inner ballerina - every single Tuesday!
