Tutu Tuesday in Bridgewater, South Australia: #tututuesday

G'day, fashionistas! It's your girl, Amelia, back with another instalment of my beloved Tutu Tuesday! This week, I'm bringing the sparkle from right here in Bridgewater, South Australia, and let me tell ya, it's a true testament to how far our ballet scene has come in this beautiful part of the world.

For those of you who are new to the Tutu Tuesday game, it's all about celebrating the iconic tutu, the garment that has defined ballet since the dawn of time. I love exploring different styles โ€“ from the classic romantic tutu, with its tiers of soft, billowing tulle, to the more contemporary designs that are bold, geometric, and sometimes, a little bit wacky!

Bridgewater, for all its quaint charm, actually has a hidden treasure โ€“ the Bridgewater Dance Academy. These guys have been turning out some seriously talented dancers for years. The other day, I had the absolute pleasure of popping in for their end-of-year recital, and it was an absolute showstopper! They had some beautiful tutus, with some amazing contemporary pieces that really showed off the dancers' incredible skills. The way they moved in those tutus, it was pure magic, truly inspiring stuff. I mean, seeing all those ballerinas gracefully pirouette and leap in their gorgeous tutus just fills me with such joy! Itโ€™s like witnessing pure artistry in motion.

Of course, no Tutu Tuesday would be complete without a rundown of some of the trends I'm seeing this season. You can't go wrong with a classic romantic tutu. It's just so elegant, timeless and ethereal. Think tiers and tiers of tulle, a fitted bodice, and a splash of colour. But if you're feeling a little bolder, why not try a modern, geometric tutu? These babies have a different silhouette and a focus on interesting lines, incorporating bold shapes and angles into the design, often using a mixture of colours and fabrics, which can include everything from velvet to leather, and can be fitted with innovative techniques and fabrics to make the design really stand out.

Remember, the great thing about ballet is that you can embrace your unique style, no matter what your preferred tutu design is. So go on, embrace your inner ballerina, get out your Tutu and make a statement! You can even make your own - it's super rewarding to give it a go! It doesn't need to be perfect! Embrace those wobbly lines and uneven seams, itโ€™s about the process.

Until next week, dance your heart out! Stay fashionable! #tututuesday #bridgewatersouthaustralia #balletinaustralia
