Tutu Tuesday in Myrtleford, Victoria: A Whirlwind of Tulle and Grace

G'day fellow tutu enthusiasts! It's your girl, Elara, back with another edition of Tutu Tuesday, and this week, I'm bringing the twirling magic right to the heart of Victoria, specifically the charming town of Myrtleford. Now, you might be thinking, "Myrtleford? What's going on in that quaint little town?" Well, my lovelies, you'd be surprised! Turns out, Myrtleford's got a hidden secret: a thriving arts scene just waiting to be discovered. And what better way to celebrate it than with a sprinkle of tulle and a whole lot of twirling?

Myrtleford is nestled in the beautiful High Country region, known for its lush valleys, rugged mountains, and a seriously laid-back vibe. This charming town boasts a strong community spirit, and that translates beautifully to its arts and culture. As I arrived, I was greeted with smiles as warm as the sun and an air of artistic creativity that's just infectious. It felt like a breath of fresh air, a chance to escape the city bustle and reconnect with the joy of movement.

Speaking of movement, Tutu Tuesday in Myrtleford wouldn't be complete without a ballet class, and what better teacher than the renowned (and ever-so-lovely) Ms. Genevieve, from the Myrtleford Dance Academy. We gathered in the quaint, sun-drenched studio, and as soon as Genevieve began the warm-up, I knew we were in for a treat.

Now, you might be thinking, "But Elara, you're a pro, what's the point of a ballet class?" And to that, I say, there's absolutely no better way to re-connect with the joy of dance and embrace the essence of ballet. Besides, there's nothing like being in the company of passionate dancers, regardless of experience level, who share the love of the art form.

The class itself was a mix of classical technique and contemporary movement. Genevieve had us flowing across the floor, our tutus swirling with every graceful pirouette and energetic leap. The feeling of freedom and artistic expression was truly intoxicating. And you know what? I'm no stranger to tutus – I've got a whole collection of them from the iconic "The Swan Lake" classic to a modern, daring number by an up-and-coming designer – but those tutus just looked stunning on the Myrtleford Dance Academy students. They truly danced with hearts filled with passion!

Later that evening, we celebrated Tutu Tuesday at The Myrtleford Hotel – an old-world charmer with a modern heart. We had a few giggles over some cheeky cocktails and chatted about all things tutu. The vibe was so warm and welcoming, and I just had to tell you about the food! The chef knows how to cook a mean meal, I'll tell ya! The dessert? Oh, let's just say it was an explosion of flavor and a worthy way to end our #tututuesday adventure.
