Tutu Tuesday in Wilberforce, New South Wales #tututuesday

G'day lovelies! It's your girl, Mia here, back with another instalment of my blog, "Dancing with the Stars." As you all know, I live for Tutu Tuesday. There's just something so magical and empowering about slipping on a fluffy, tulle dream and twirling into the day. And when you're living in a town like Wilberforce, nestled amongst the rolling hills of New South Wales, you just gotta embrace the whimsical!

So, today I decided to bring the tutus to the local farmers' market. It's a bit of a hoot! Everyone's always so curious, and I get to spread the joy of ballet, one twirl at a time. The farmers love seeing a little bit of dance amongst the pumpkins and apples, and I gotta admit, it's quite an experience.

Now, for today's Tutu Tuesday, I opted for a romantic, billowing, pale pink number. It was a real princess dream, with a flowing skirt and a shimmering bodice. You know, the type you'd envision for a dreamy performance under the stars.

This beauty is a perfect example of a romantic tutu. It's characterized by its soft tulle layers that float and billow gracefully. Often seen in classical ballets like Giselle or La Sylphide, these tutus emphasize fluidity and femininity.

However, for you city slickers, who might be less inclined to waltz down the aisle of your local Woolworths in a billowing tulle confection, there are a whole bunch of tutu styles that are totally street-wear friendly. Let's talk about the variations.

  • The **"Demi-tutu,"** shorter than the romantic version, it's perfect for showcasing legwork and athleticism. It's a popular choice for modern ballets and contemporary dance pieces.
  • The **"Crinoline Tutu,"** shorter and sturdier with a flat, circular shape and layers of stiff tulle. It creates a geometric silhouette and is commonly used in 19th-century ballets. This type has that perfect whimsical vibe, but still fits in the 'day to day.' You could even wear this one to the pub.
  • The **"Classical Tutu,"** often seen in Swan Lake, is typically white with a conical shape. It represents purity, innocence, and elegance. Now, maybe you don't want to wear white everywhere, but there are plenty of options in colour. Even if you go for a darker, edgier look, it still evokes those classic balletic vibes.

There you have it - all the styles for every personality. It's not about looking a certain way. It's about embracing that twirling, expressive, joyful side of ourselves! In a town like Wilberforce, it's just part of life! You can spot our local dancing kids around town sporting their favourite ballet attire. Whether they're in their adorable leotards and tights, or doing spins in the street with their friends, they're dancing their hearts out, making the streets of Wilberforce come alive.

Speaking of Wilberforce, it's a true hidden gem in the Australian dance scene. While it's known for its peacefulness and gorgeous scenery, it's actually home to a vibrant dance community. Our local ballet studio, "Dance with Grace," offers classes to everyone from beginners to professionals. You can always hear the soft tinkling of the piano through the town square and the pitter patter of little feet learning their first plie.

Don't let that tutu style just collect dust in the wardrobe, lovelies! Itโ€™s a constant reminder of grace, beauty, and the joy of expressing ourselves through movement. Get out there and show off your moves. Embrace the beauty of #tututuesday, and let your inner ballerina shine!
