Tutu Tuesday in St Georges Basin, NSW: A Dance Through the Dunes

G'day, fellow dance lovers! It's your girl, Sarah, bringing you the latest from the world of tutus and twirls. This week, we're taking a trip down to St Georges Basin, NSW, for a Tutu Tuesday with a difference.

I'm always looking for ways to shake things up in the ballet world, and there's nothing I love more than exploring new environments and bringing the magic of dance to unexpected places. Today, I'm trading in the stage for the sand dunes!

It’s fair to say that I've always loved a good Tutu Tuesday – what's not to love, really? The perfect blend of fashion and movement, a celebration of femininity, a tribute to ballet, and a fantastic excuse to unleash your inner prima ballerina. And let's face it, who doesn't want a little extra twirl in their lives?

This week's Tutu Tuesday ensemble is a bit more adventurous than usual. I opted for a **Romantic Tutu**, with layers of tulle that shimmer and move with every step, giving it a sense of airy elegance that's perfect for the open landscape of the dunes. Think romantic, flowing lines, with a delicate silhouette that reflects the natural beauty of the setting.

And while it might sound unusual to combine ballet with sand dunes, let me tell you, it's an absolute dream! The gentle sway of the dunes beneath my feet was a unique kind of stage, and the vastness of the sky above provided an awe-inspiring backdrop for my movements.

It's not often I find myself performing barefoot on sand, but I must say, the experience was absolutely freeing. Feeling the warm sand beneath my toes, the gentle wind in my hair, and the vast expanse of the coastline all around me created a sensation of freedom and joy that I haven't experienced before.

Here are some of the things I loved most about my Tutu Tuesday adventure in St Georges Basin:

  • The raw, natural beauty. It was like stepping into a postcard! From the golden sand to the endless blue of the sky, every detail of this landscape was just breathtaking.
  • The feeling of freedom. It's no secret that ballerinas spend a lot of time practicing in structured studios and confined spaces, so it was incredible to move freely and explore such a wild and open environment.
  • The chance to push the boundaries. Dance is always evolving and embracing new forms of expression. Taking my ballet to the sand dunes felt like a natural progression of that constant evolution, pushing the boundaries of the art form.

Here's to celebrating the beauty of dance, wherever you find yourself. From the stage to the sand dunes, Tutu Tuesday is a reminder that dance can be enjoyed everywhere.

If you're ever looking for a fun and creative way to explore your city, I highly recommend heading out for your own Tutu Tuesday. You never know where you might find inspiration.

Lots of love and twirls,
