Tutu Tuesday in Woodside, South Australia: A Tutu-tastic Celebration of Ballet

Hey darlings! It's your favourite ballet-loving blogger, back with another post. Today is a special day – Tutu Tuesday in Woodside, South Australia! If you haven't heard, this glorious initiative is taking the state by storm, encouraging everyone, from professional ballerinas like me to absolute newbies, to wear tutus on Tuesdays.

Now, you might be thinking, "A tutu on a Tuesday? What's all that about?" Well, let me tell you, it's way more than just a fancy outfit. Tutu Tuesday is all about embracing the joy of dance, embracing our inner ballerina, and letting our tutus (and personalities!) shine!

So, what's a tutu enthusiast to wear on a special day like this? Well, there are endless possibilities, my darlings! If you want to keep it classic, you can't go wrong with a traditional Romantic Tutu. Picture a floaty tulle masterpiece, light as a feather and absolutely stunning.

But if you're feeling adventurous, there are heaps of fun and modern tutu options. How about a contemporary, layered tutu with a dramatic asymmetrical cut? Or a super-stylish, short tutu in a bright colour? The choices are endless, my dears. The only limit is your imagination!

As a professional dancer, I find myself inspired by the many styles of tutu that make their way through the studio doors and onto the stage here in Australia. From the simple elegance of the Russian style tutu with its shorter length and wider waistband to the breathtaking Romantic tutu and its layered layers of tulle – I adore them all! I also find it empowering to see women, and girls of all ages embrace the joy of a tutu and the freedom and confidence that it brings.

Here's the best part: Tutu Tuesday in Woodside isn't just about rocking the tutu. It's about creating a sense of community and spreading a love of dance. Whether you're having a casual coffee date with your mates in a tutu or you’re going to a fancy ballet performance – every tutu on a Tuesday brings a little bit of sparkle to Woodside, South Australia.

It's infectious. The infectious energy and joy that a tutu brings is almost tangible, and it has absolutely inspired me! I’ve been absolutely blown away by the sheer number of tutus I’ve seen popping up around Woodside, from schoolgirls giggling at the bus stop to mums picking up the kids from the local sports grounds – the city is truly tutu-fied!

So, there you have it. If you're looking for a way to celebrate your inner ballerina and get in touch with your fun side, jump on the Tutu Tuesday bandwagon and spread some sparkle! It’s such a unique way to support dance, spread joy, and create memories with your friends. Who knows, it could even inspire a new generation of dancers. It might even end up being bigger than our legendary “St Kilda Feast” with all the food and good times it brings with it. I’m all in for the fun!

Until next time, darling! And don't forget to post a photo of you in your tutu, be sure to tag #tututuesday, #woodside, and #southaustralia ! Happy tutu-ing!
