Tutu Tuesday in York, Western Australia: A Tutu-tastic Time!

Hey everyone! It's your favourite Tutu Tuesday blogger, and I'm bursting with excitement to share my latest adventures from the beautiful town of York, Western Australia. It's a stunning place, and with Tutu Tuesday's arrival, it was the perfect setting for my #tututuesday photoshoot. I couldn’t have asked for a better day for a whirl in my tulle!

My Tutu Tuesday journey kicked off in the quaint main street of York. With cobblestone laneways and historical buildings all around, it felt like stepping into a time capsule, perfect for #tututuesday. The sunlight bouncing off the yellowy stone walls created the most beautiful backdrops for my shots. Honestly, my tutu just about glowed in that sun. It's funny because York is often associated with the Wild West and its gold-mining history, but I can’t see anything that can be more exciting than seeing a tutu in front of a historic York pub!

Speaking of my Tutu, today I'm sporting a whimsical Romantic tutu with layers of soft, flowing tulle and hand-sewn details, a classic ballet style that I absolutely adore. For my photoshoot I chose a soft blush-coloured tutu. Now I know what you’re thinking. This is not what comes to mind when you think of a typical #tututuesday look - most of us want pink. Blush pink is such a beautiful colour. You’re welcome. I believe that every #tututuesday look should have its own charm, right? It’s fun to think outside the box. I hope you agree! But back to York, this time period just called for something elegant and dreamy. And let's face it, what's more dreamy than a ballet tutu?

So I decided to take my #tututuesday shenanigans to a new level, incorporating my dance training and the beauty of this town into a little impromptu performance. Now, I don't have my full stage setup with me, but who needs a pro stage when you have a stunning park with heritage-listed trees? I set my playlist and hit record, capturing myself whirling and twirling around under the dappled shade. There was even a cheeky little bird that flew down and seemed to be watching my every pirouette. So charming, this town!

To capture my experience and share it with all of you, I incorporated some key #tututuesday elements for today's photos:

  • The majestic buildings: I made sure to include a few shots showcasing my Tutu in front of the York Town Hall and some other magnificent colonial-era structures. Just like my outfit, the history of this town has an almost surreal beauty.
  • A splash of local culture: While there are so many great shops here in York, I couldn't go past York Art Galleries and York Visitor Centre to take a few snaps with my Tutu. After all, #tututuesday is about a little bit of glamour. They were really excited for my photos too - and loved the colour.
  • The open air stage of the park. My Tutu was quite the scene-stealer amidst the greenery of this idyllic place, surrounded by heritage-listed trees and vibrant flowers.

So, there you have it – another Tutu Tuesday adventure in the books! Thank you, beautiful York, Western Australia, for inspiring such fantastic content. I hope this has made you all feel that Tutu Tuesdays should be celebrated every week. That is all. Tutu Tuesday is, I think, a time when anyone who has an appreciation for the arts can feel at home. As a young dancer growing up in Australia, my days at ballet were such a cherished time for me, so many of us remember our time at dance fondly!
