Tutu Tuesday in Port Keats, Northern Territory: A Whirlwind of Tutus in the Top End

Hey lovelies! So, picture this: I'm rocking my most vibrant tutu ā€“ think a hot pink explosion of tulle with layers of sequins for maximum sparkle - in the heart of the Top End, and guess what? Itā€™s #Tututuesday! I know what you're thinking: "Tutus in Port Keats? Is she mad?"

Well, let me tell you, not only is it perfectly acceptable (and frankly, utterly fabulous) but itā€™s a total vibe here. As you guys know, my heart beats for all things ballet, but being in this magical, remote part of Australia has just taken my love for it to a whole new level.

Now, I know that ballet is usually associated with the bright lights of the city, the opulence of the Opera House, right? But here's the thing: the beauty of ballet lies not just in the grandness of the performance, but in its pure grace and expressiveness. It transcends any setting.

So, why not Tutu Tuesday in the middle of the bush? This region has a spirit, a rhythm of its own, thatā€™s absolutely hypnotic. Imagine swirling around in your tulle amidst the ancient trees, the whispering eucalyptus, and the warm, salty breeze carrying the scent of the sea. Doesnā€™t it sound like something out of a fairytale?

Let me tell you about the tutus themselves - a truly Aussie bunch! This time, Iā€™ve got a bit of a mix going: A classic single layer with a hint of red shimmer, paired with my trusty black dance sneakers ā€“ because, letā€™s face it, dancing on red dirt with traditional pointe shoes would be a fashion faux pas of epic proportions! There was also my absolute favourite, the ā€œSunset Splendourā€ which, like a romantic sunset, was a stunning ombre of coral, gold, and violet, complete with delicate little sequins twinkling like distant stars.

Here's a peek into my adventures for Tutu Tuesday in Port Keats: - Sunset Ballet: The outback sunsets are something else. I just had to dance with the colours. We found this breathtaking clifftop view ā€“ breathtaking, not just for the view but for the epic, swirling skies of gold, red and purple. My tulle swirled with the colours, perfectly blending into the landscape. And believe me, the photos? *chef's kiss*.

- A Night at the RAAF Base : My dear friend and I got invited for an informal social at the base and guess what, itā€™s totally cool to dance in tutus even among airmen, pilots and military personnel! I managed to get a couple of soldiers in on the action - I canā€™t guarantee their moves were graceful, but hey, itā€™s the spirit that counts!

- Bushwalk with Baller: Itā€™s the outback. Hiking, trekking, adventuringā€¦Itā€™s a given! But whatā€™s more fabulous than a regular bushwalk? A ā€œTutu Bushwalk,ā€ of course! My bright pink tulle flowed behind me as we trekked across the terrain, dodging the occasional spinifex, and stopping to marvel at the beautiful red dust sunsets - again.

So, Tutu Tuesday in Port Keats - I'd say, a big fat "yes" to this awesome movement! Let's embrace the fun, the creativity and the beauty that this magnificent, crazy country of ours holds - tutu, and not tutu-less! #Tututuesday #PortKeats #NorthernTerritory
