Tutu Tuesday in Ravenswood, Western Australia #tututuesday Okay, fellow tutu enthusiasts, it's time to get excited because, well, it's Tutu Tuesday! 🩰 Every Tuesday, my social media feed explodes with colourful tulle, graceful twirls and some truly creative outfits, and I love it! I'm here to talk to you all about the ballet scene in Australia and specifically about our awesome little haven of creativity that is Ravenswood, Western Australia. Look, we Aussies have this awesome thing about us. We just get it when it comes to a good party, and this city is no different. If you haven't been down to a show at the West Australian Ballet here in Perth, well, honestly, you're missing out. We're blessed to have some of the most talented dancers in the country right here in our own backyard. Just thinking about those amazing costumes and the sheer athleticism, well, it gives me the goosebumps! And what's better than watching a world-class show? That's right! It's *making* a show. We Aussies are definitely about being hands-on, whether it's snagging tickets to see our favourite stars at the WA Ballet or getting out there and actually twirling ourselves. And if there's one place where Tutu Tuesday gets embraced with gusto, it's Ravenswood, my friends! You wanna know what makes me really tick? Seeing my neighbours down the street absolutely rocking their #tututuesday outfits. It's amazing! I've seen the whole gamut, from those elegant, traditional-style tutus you see on the stage, to those playful, brightly-coloured ones that remind me of a bouncy, beautiful spring morning! Then there are the ones that really get my creativity flowing, you know, the ones that are completely unique. Some people are absolutely rocking tutus that you wouldn't even see on the biggest stage, they’re custom-made with hand-painted designs and fabric scraps that are just bursting with character! And the best part? They are rocking it with an unbridled joy that you can feel right through your screen! The thing that I love most about #tututuesday is how it truly captures the spirit of our community in Ravenswood. I feel like our neighbourhood is bursting with artists, designers and creatives, and this is their chance to show off their unique style. And when it comes to showcasing their personal sense of creativity, the sky’s the limit! One week it's all about a majestic, flowing chiffon tutu that feels so airy and graceful. Next, it’s a tutu in the style of punk rock - lots of leather and zips! And it always ends with me smiling and wishing I could have been there to watch the parade of creativity unfolding. Look, whether you're an experienced ballerina, a first-time twirler or just want to get out of your comfort zone, #tututuesday is about embracing all things tulle!
