Tutu Tuesday in Ulladulla, New South Wales: A Tutu-tastic Celebration of Dance! #tututuesday

G'day, fellow tutu enthusiasts! As a passionate ballet dancer and lover of all things tulle, I couldn't let Tutu Tuesday pass by without a little celebration. So, I packed my dancing shoes and my favourite tutu, and headed down to beautiful Ulladulla, New South Wales, for a day of twirls, tutus, and a touch of Aussie magic!

Tutu Tuesday is a global phenomenon, a day where ballerinas, aspiring dancers, and tutu-lovers everywhere unite in a glorious celebration of this iconic piece of dancewear. And what better place to celebrate than right here in Australia, the land of vibrant culture, breathtaking scenery, and a passionate love for the performing arts?

Now, when it comes to tutus, let's talk about the different styles! First up, we've got the classic, romantic tutu - you know, the one with layers upon layers of tulle, swirling around the dancer like a fluffy dream. Then there's the more modern, contemporary tutu - shorter, often asymmetrical, and sometimes made with less tulle, giving a more minimalist vibe. For me, I tend to lean towards the romantic, but you can never go wrong with a bit of contemporary flair!

And, speaking of contemporary flair, there's no shortage of that in Ulladulla! The town boasts an energetic arts scene with passionate ballet classes and talented dance studios - where dreams of pirouettes and leaps come to life. So, it's only natural that Tutu Tuesday would be celebrated here in such a special way.

My day began with a little bit of morning pirouette practice in my favourite tutu - a vintage number I snagged at a vintage dancewear store in the heart of Sydney. This is a perfect example of the classic romantic tutu I love โ€“ soft, layered tulle with an airy lightness, it just feels magical to wear.

Then, it was off to Ulladulla's stunning waterfront for a Tutu Tuesday photo shoot! The sun was shining, the breeze was gentle, and the iconic Ulladulla lighthouse stood as a magnificent backdrop, mirroring the grace and elegance of a ballerina in full spin. The photos came out absolutely incredible. (Follow my instagram to see them, of course!)

After the shoot, it was time to experience Ulladulla's culinary scene. Now, being a dancer means keeping an eye on my diet - but I also enjoy indulging in some treats, too! And Ulladulla has plenty to offer, from fresh seafood straight from the harbour to delicious vegetarian cafes. (Don't worry, I had some extra-crispy sweet potato fries... no harm in a little indulgence now and again! ๐Ÿ˜‰)

As the sun began to set, casting warm hues over the coastline, I finished my day by catching a glimpse of a breathtaking sunset from Ulladulla's iconic harbour. It felt like a fitting end to my Tutu Tuesday adventure!

Tutu Tuesday was more than just a day for me; it was a chance to embrace my love for ballet, celebrate my own passion for dance, and share it with a vibrant community in a gorgeous, beautiful corner of Australia! I encourage everyone to join in on the fun and make Tutu Tuesday a global movement!

Don't forget to follow my journey - whether it's on stage, in a studio, or celebrating a love for tutu in a beautiful location.
