Tutu Tuesday in Mudgee, New South Wales: A Tutu-ful Day Out #tututuesday

G'day, lovelies! Your girl is back with another fab fashion post, this time bringing the tutu-ful vibes straight from the heart of Mudgee, New South Wales. Now, I know what you're thinking, "Tutus in Mudgee? What's the go there?" Well, let me tell you, it was an absolute hoot! And to top it off, it was all in the name of good old #Tututuesday!

It all started with my mission to find the perfect tutu for a ballet recital coming up. You know how it is, we ballerinas love a good excuse to rock a tutu, right? I've got a classic white Romantic tutu, perfect for those elegant ballets like Giselle, but I needed something a bit more sassy and vibrant for this particular piece, a contemporary number full of fire and passion. So off I went on a little road trip from Sydney, down to Mudgee, a town brimming with charm, culture, and you guessed it, fabulously eclectic boutiques.

First stop, a little vintage treasure trove called "The Dusty Attic." Now, let me tell ya, this place is a ballerina's dream. Floor to ceiling, you've got silk gowns, feather boas, sequins galore, and nestled amongst it all, the most amazing collection of tutus. It was like stepping back in time! I stumbled upon a vintage, pastel-coloured tutu, made of this soft, flowy chiffon. You know the kind – a bit like a ballerina fairy princess went on a shopping spree. It was exactly the kind of colour and vibe I was after! But then, oh then, I discovered a second tutu. A true showstopper - black tulle, ruffled to the max, with little diamond accents. Now, I was in tutu heaven. The dilemma: go with the whimsical, fairy princess or the bold, dramatic beauty? I’m telling ya, it was a tough one.

Well, after a couple of outfit changes and a long hard think, I went for the classic beauty – the black tutu with all the tulle glory. After all, you can never go wrong with a bit of classic drama on the stage, right? Besides, who can resist a little black tulle? The lady in the store, bless her cotton socks, agreed. We had a good old fashioned giggle over the sheer awesomeness of it. She was even a retired ballerina herself, a proper dancing queen back in the day!

But Mudgee was about more than just tutu-ing up! It's a place where the heart of Australian country charm beats strong. After my vintage tutu find, I had the best fish and chips by the river, enjoyed a cuppa at a quaint cafe with homemade cakes, and even got a cheeky pic with a kangaroo sculpture (it’s important to remember where you are sometimes!).

Speaking of remembering, here’s the thing. Tutus are much more than just costumes, lovelies. They're symbols of artistry, passion, and the stories we tell on the stage. It's the ultimate way to feel like a ballerina princess for a day (or at least for a Tutu Tuesday!).

So if you’re looking for a weekend getaway that's full of vintage treasures, stunning landscapes and a touch of ballerina magic, Mudgee's the place to be. You never know what tutu-tastic gems you might find, just like me.

Until next time, darlings. Remember: keep it real, keep it fierce, and most importantly, keep it tutu-ful!
