Tutu Tuesday in Lysterfield, Victoria: A Tutu-tastic Day Out! ## Tutu Tuesday in Lysterfield, Victoria: A Tutu-tastic Day Out! G’day, fellow tutu enthusiasts! It’s your girl, Chloe here, back with another #tututuesday adventure. This time, we’re heading out of the city, into the picturesque greenery of Lysterfield, Victoria. Let’s get into the deets… A Tutu-tastic Day in Lysterfield Today, I decided to bring the tutus out for a real treat! After all, ballet shouldn't just be confined to the studio walls. First things first: outfit. For today's occasion, I went for a classic. My black tulle tutu from Ballet Boutique – short and fluffy – paired with a white ballet top and white sneakers. It's an effortless yet undeniably chic look, perfect for a day out. With my outfit on point, I grabbed my ballet bag, filled with water, snacks, and of course, my ballet journal for jotting down tutu-inspired moments. The first stop was Lysterfield Lake. Surrounded by nature's beauty, it was the perfect spot for a mini tutu photo shoot! I captured some incredible snaps with the lake as a backdrop. The second stop was the Lysterfield Park. With sprawling open spaces and lush greenery, the park was just begging for a twirl or two. It’s crazy how being out in nature makes your ballet steps feel even more expressive. It's all about feeling free, you know? A Picnic with the Girls After a day exploring the park, my besties – fellow ballet fanatics – joined me for a picnic under a big shady tree. It was a beautiful scene – all our colorful tutus popping against the natural greens and blues of Lysterfield’s landscape. You can never have enough tutus! We got to admire each other's outfits and share stories of our ballet experiences, with everyone sporting their own unique take on the #tututuesday theme. It’s always good to be surrounded by others who share your passion! Finding Tutu-Inspiration in Every Moment While we feasted on gourmet sandwiches and cupcakes, we even spotted a bunch of local families participating in their own mini tutu fashion shows, embracing the spirit of #tututuesday. But honestly, #tututuesday is about more than just dressing up. It’s about celebrating dance in its many forms and finding the joy in expressing ourselves. The freedom, grace, and power – these are all part of the ballet world, even when you’re twirling around in the park. Making Memories with Ballet Friends Today, I realised something powerful: Ballet isn’t just about technical moves and stage performances. It’s about making memories with people who understand you. The way we laugh together, how we get lost in a world of pirouettes and leaps, how we feel our anxieties fade away as our steps flow... It's truly special! So if you’re feeling like your dance world needs a breath of fresh air, head out to nature! Whether it’s a park, a beach, or even a bushwalk – bring those tutus along, you never know where a #tututuesday adventure will lead you. Ballet in Australia It’s clear that ballet has a vibrant presence in Australia, a passion that resonates throughout our community. From established ballet schools in major cities to passionate local groups, the love of dance flourishes. My hope is that #tututuesday continues to empower dancers like myself and connect us across Australia. We all have stories to share, a passion for the art, and of course, a killer tutu or two in our closets! **#tututuesday #balletinaustralia #lysterfield #tutusforthewin #tutusunday #tututime** Don’t forget to follow my ballet journey on Instagram, and let me know if you have a favourite tutu you want to share in the comments below! Until next time, stay inspired! **** **Let’s Talk Tutus** When we think about tutus, there's a whole spectrum of styles. The classic “romantic” tutu is iconic – soft and layered, almost cloud-like. Think Tchaikovsky and ethereal grace. But we also have tutus that bring more power, like the “package” tutu – rigid and defined, ideal for more technical ballet work. Then there's the “Spanish” tutu, a shorter style that lets the leg movement take center stage. There's even the “tutu à la Francaise” with a flat, structured shape! Ultimately, tutus reflect the diverse beauty and styles within the world of dance, from romantic to dramatic to contemporary – something for every dancer, and every story to tell. And speaking of stories, I wanted to mention an inspiring moment from the #tututuesday event... *** ** A Little Girl's Inspiration** After a lovely morning in Lysterfield Park, I saw a little girl, maybe 8 years old, staring at me with big eyes and a wide grin. She asked shyly, “Do you do ballet, Miss?” I laughed, saying “Yes, little one. This is what we call Tutu Tuesday! It's a day where everyone celebrates dance, no matter where they are!” I held up my fluffy black tutu, feeling that little bit of magic from childhood, you know? I remember wanting to be a ballerina too. She seemed to glow! I even got a little teary. That simple gesture of shared passion and love for ballet… It meant the world. It reinforced to me what a privilege it is to be a dancer, even on #tututuesday, and it really reminded me why this project is so important to me! **#balletinspiration #nextgeneration #loveforballet # tututuesdaymemories** ***
