Blackwater, you say? Yeah, you might not know it but ballet’s actually got a pretty decent following out here in the outback, and every week we have a little Tutu Tuesday gather-up in the park. Think about it: tutus, fresh air, sunshine... we're definitely living the good life!
Today’s ensemble was my classic romantic tutu – you know, the one that's super flowy with the tulle layered just right to create a billowing silhouette. It's all about delicate beauty and a hint of nostalgia, with a few hand-sewn floral accents for extra flair, and for good measure, some whimsical feather trim, for a bit of fairytale whimsy.
The crowd here is the best. You’ve got young mums showing off their little ballet princesses, the blokes in their Aussie bush shirts giving us cheeky grins, and everyone rocking a tutu – be it a sparkly pack, a playful layered design, or even a DIY creation that’s full of personality. It's a rainbow of colours and styles, and it makes for some fantastic Instagram-worthy moments.
But let's get real, tutu Tuesday isn’t just about fancy clothes. It's a celebration of self-expression and the magic of dance. It’s about creating a space where everyone can feel comfortable and confident to embrace their inner artist. Even the guys! We've got some seriously cool dude rocking tutu’s now, which brings the fun levels way up.
