Tutu Tuesday in Margate, Tasmania - #tututuesday

G'day, dance lovers! It's your girl, Lily, back with another instalment of Tutu Tuesday, and this week, we're taking a trip down to Margate, Tasmania. Yes, you heard me right! This charming little town has a secret: a thriving ballet community that's bursting with talent and a whole lot of love for all things tulle.

Margate's ballet scene might be small, but it's mighty! There's a community ballet school, run by the ever-inspiring Ms. Johnson, who's been nurturing young dancers in the area for over two decades. Her studio, nestled between the quaint cafes and boutiques, is a hub for local ballerinas of all ages.

And while we're on the subject of "local", let's talk about the local talent. I had the absolute pleasure of meeting some seriously gifted dancers at Ms. Johnson's studio. From pint-sized pointe shoes to teenagers twirling with incredible grace, it was a real treat to witness the passion for ballet thriving in such a picturesque setting.

But the real highlight of my visit? It's gotta be the tutus! I mean, what's Tutu Tuesday without a good tutu? The ladies at Margate know their way around tulle, that's for sure. I spotted some classics like the traditional **Romantic tutu**, with its flowing tiers and romantic elegance. And let's not forget about the **tutu-ception** trend - a layered tutu featuring another smaller tutu in the centre. These were totally rocking, just a bit like an "all-day-breakfast" concept but in the realm of tutu.

And speaking of rocking out, Margate has a fabulous, supportive atmosphere. It's not just about the technical brilliance of the dance itself; it's about the love and passion the dancers bring to the art form. Their passion is contagious, I tell ya. It had me twirling through the streets of Margate before I knew it.

So, why is Tutu Tuesday such a big deal? Because it's a celebration of everything ballet, a way to showcase the amazing talent out there. It's about being unapologetically yourself, expressing your creativity and passion through the art of ballet.

It's about making ballet accessible for everyone. So, put on your best tutu (whether it's a real one or a homemade masterpiece), get your twirl on, and join us on this journey of all things ballet.
