Tutu Tuesday in Cooroy, Queensland #tututuesday G'day, fellow dance lovers! It's your girl, Amelia, back with another instalment of Tutu Tuesday, and today we're taking a little trip up north to the charming town of Cooroy, Queensland. Let me tell you, the sun's been shining, the birds are chirping, and the locals are just as friendly as you could ask for. Now, before we get to the fabulous tutus, let's talk about the reason for the trip. You see, Cooroy's been buzzing with a bit of ballet fever this week. The Noosa Ballet Company has been hosting its annual workshops, attracting dancers from all across the Sunshine Coast. They even invited me along to be their guest tutor for a day, teaching some young budding ballerinas the ins and outs of pointe work. Now, where do I even begin with the tutus? Talk about a rainbow of styles and fabrics! * We had classic romantic tutus with a layer upon layer of soft tulle, swirling and flowing like a summer breeze. Imagine those graceful movements under the stage lights! * And for something a little more daring, we saw a few of the contemporary tutus. These beauties are made from a more structured fabric like cotton or silk, giving them a sharper, more angular silhouette. * We also saw some playful variations on the traditional tutu – think sequins, feather embellishments, and even the occasional pop of bright colour – think magenta pink or electric blue! Seeing the passion in the young dancers' eyes as they twirled and leapt in their beautiful tutus, was enough to melt my heart! You see, ballet in Australia is alive and kicking. It’s not just about traditional grand pas de deux anymore. It’s about finding the magic in movement and sharing the art form with people from all walks of life. And believe me, seeing all those kids in their tutus, laughing and having a blast – that was the most inspiring thing of all. I really am proud of the vibrant ballet scene in Cooroy and across Australia! #tututuesday P.S. Stay tuned, because next Tuesday we're exploring a different tutu style!
