Tutu Tuesday in Oberon, New South Wales #tututuesday So, the sun is shining, the birds are singing, and the air is filled with the smell of wattle. Yep, spring is officially here in Oberon, New South Wales, and you know what that means – it’s time to get my tutu on! For you newbies, Tutu Tuesday is a worldwide phenomenon where ballet dancers and lovers of all things frilly take to the streets, parks, and even workplaces, adorned in their finest tutus. It's a celebration of the iconic garment, its history, and its timeless beauty, and I wouldn’t miss it for the world. Being a dancer in the heart of the Blue Mountains, you could say I’ve always been a little bit tutu obsessed, but I really go all out on Tutu Tuesday. This week I decided to break out my vintage pink romantic tutu, all layered tulle, with just the slightest bit of shimmer – it’s a showstopper, even in Oberon's more rural surroundings. Oberon's definitely not a city known for its dance scene (or its fashion scene for that matter), so I’m hoping to make a little bit of a splash today. Who knows, maybe Tutu Tuesday will inspire the next generation of Australian ballerinas to take the stage in our little mountain town! Today, I’ve been hopping between Oberon's famous local shops, charming cafes, and even venturing into the wilds of the mountains for a bit of impromptu tutu-clad photoshooting. It’s pretty amazing how just putting on a tutu can make a day so much brighter! Now, let’s talk about the iconic styles I've seen: * **The Classic Romantic Tutu:** This one's the ballerina's dream – all soft tulle layers, swirling like a fairy's dress, just begging to twirl! Perfect for any princess or aspiring ballet star, just like mine today. * **The Modern Tutu:** Sleek, edgy, and a bit daring. I’m hoping to snag myself one of these beauties for my next show, all angles and minimal fabric – so chic. * **The “En Pointe” Tutu:** For the brave hearts of the world (and some serious ballet technique!). Imagine that impossibly small, intricate design that gives a dancer a “wings of freedom” feeling. * **The “Practice Tutu:** Let’s be honest – we all have one of these, maybe even two! No frills, no fuss – just all-business comfort and maximum stretch for those hard rehearsals. Today’s Tutu Tuesday was a whirlwind of twirling, laughing, and general merriment – exactly what every Tuesday (and every day, really) needs. If you’re thinking of rocking your own Tutu Tuesday – just do it! The world needs more tutus! Here’s to Tutu Tuesdays! Now for some lemonade and more twirls. #TutuTuesday #OberonNSW #ballet #australianballet #tutulove #dance #tutusfordays
