Tutu Tuesday in Ballan, Victoria: A Whirlwind of Tulle & #tututuesday

G'day, lovelies! It's your girl, Amelia here, your friendly neighbourhood ballet blogger, ready to take you on a trip through the magical world of tutus and tutus-inspired outfits, specifically for our #tututuesday. Iā€™ve always felt like wearing a tutu is a way of embracing that inner child who wants to twirl and dance around, and #tututuesday in Ballan, Victoria was the perfect way to celebrate this! Let's face it, there's no feeling like putting on a beautiful tutu - that twirly tulle heaven that lets you feel like youā€™re gliding across the stage, or in this case, the main street of Ballan, Victoria!

We all know the classic tutu is a must-have for ballet. With its romantic and elegant design, the classic tutu has become an iconic symbol of the world of ballet in Australia. The fluffy tulle layers are so delightful and airy. If you're thinking about getting your hands on a classic, go for it - itā€™s so elegant and feminine. Then there are the contemporary tutus, which can be made from any fabric, even cotton, silk, and denim, in addition to the typical tulle. Their adaptable designs allow you to move more freely, expressing yourself and feeling the emotion behind every move.

There are also so many variations when it comes to the lengths of the tutu - thereā€™s the romantic and beautiful ā€œdemi-tutuā€, which hits just below the knee, giving that lovely whimsical look without taking away from your movements, Then thereā€™s the full length, romantic tutu. Just like its name suggests, it can come to just below your feet. Now, the romantic length has always been a favorite and with good reason - you just look like youā€™ve stepped out of an art decoco magazine.

And then there's the tutuā€™s ability to transition beyond the dance studio into everyday life. Who hasn't wanted to wear a tutu and be the coolest girl around? It's a great way to inject a dose of femininity and playfulness into your outfit. From chic black tutus over denim to rainbow tulle skirts that go perfectly with your favourite boots, #tututuesday in Ballan proved that the possibilities are truly endless!

But let's get back to my experience in Ballan, Victoria for #tututuesday! I found the cutest cafe with a pastel colour palette perfect for #tututuesday outfits. I looked amazing in my dusty pink tulle skirt, which flowed with each step I took - just like I was dancing on the streets of Ballan, Victoria!

Hereā€™s what my day in Ballan looked like - let's take a look! Ballan, Victoria: #tututuesday

  • I stopped by my favorite local coffee shop for #tututuesday in Ballan, Victoria. The cafe's owner had just had a big delivery of new pastel coloured paint and it made the place just the perfect background for my #tututuesday outfit: a powder pink tulle skirt, a white crochet crop top that hugged my body, a white lacey beret and some statement, pastel-colored jewellery - think big hoops. Itā€™s a real Parisian feel to the outfit and really embodied the spirit of the #tututuesday occasion in Ballan.
  • We got to spend some time in Ballan's town square where there was a little #tututuesday market stalling up. It's always such a wonderful and warm feeling to feel a part of the community. It reminded me of a real Australian small-town experience.
  • While we were at the market, I just couldnā€™t resist taking photos of all of the other gorgeous outfits at #tututuesday in Ballan! One woman was wearing the brightest blue tutu skirt I had ever seen with a cute off-the-shoulder floral top. And another womanā€™s ensemble featured a white and navy colour palette - navy tutu skirt and a white lacy camisole.
  • After we went around to see everyone, it felt right to grab some #tututuesday snacks so we bought a bag of delicious Ballan honey puffs - the quintessential Australian bakery treat for any sweet-loving #tututuesday ballerinas.
  • As the sun began to set in the beautiful, Ballan skyline, I knew it was time to head back. I found a picturesque spot on a street lined with colourful houses - perfect for taking some amazing photos. I got some real ballet inspired pictures for my Insta story! Just think of me posing in front of the town's iconic clock tower in my white lacy tutu and I did all of the classic ballerina poses!
  • But thereā€™s more to the #tututuesday look, and that is the accessories. Whether you're going for a simple yet chic or a dramatic and glam look for your #tututuesday, your accessories play a role in your final look, and in Ballan for #tututuesday weā€™re lucky to have such beautiful options! I paired a little white beret and lace gloves - the beret made me feel so chic - a real French ballerina look - while the gloves were really just a sweet little touch to tie it all together!
  • Itā€™s the accessories that complete your #tututuesday look. A flower crown is also such a magical and dreamy touch. I have also worn a simple pearl necklace to compliment my tutu ensemble - if you are going for a more classic ballerina look, pearls always come through.

What I loved the most about #tututuesday was the opportunity to embrace a part of ourselves that is truly creative, feminine and fun - we really embraced it with our tulle and we took part in our own #tututuesday balllet in the heart of Ballan. All the fun in Ballan for #tututuesday had me feeling like a ballerina from a real fairytale!

Until next time, lovelies!
