Tutu Tuesday in Uralla, New South Wales #tututuesday G'day, lovelies! It's your girl, Chloe, back with another Tutu Tuesday post! This week, I'm taking my passion for the pointe shoes and tutus to Uralla, New South Wales, a quaint town in the New England region, brimming with charm and character. My love for ballet blossomed in the heart of Sydney, surrounded by the vibrancy and intensity of the dance scene. But lately, I've been finding solace in the quietude and beauty of the country. Today, I'm celebrating that shift, finding joy in the unexpected places, and sharing with you all the fabulous tutus I discovered on this journey! **First up, a visit to The Village Emporium!** This little gem is a haven for vintage fashion and handmade treasures. Now, I'm all about modern styles and contemporary looks, but stepping into this shop felt like a portal to a bygone era, a treasure trove of delicate fabrics and hand-stitched details. My eye was instantly caught by a stunning white tulle tutu, soft as a cloud and reminiscent of the classic Romantic era tutus I admire from ballerinas like Anna Pavlova. From there, I meandered through the charming streets, past historic buildings and blooming gardens, all the while with a tutu on my mind! It's incredible how this tiny town manages to pack a powerful punch when it comes to dance and fashion. I even stumbled upon a cute boutique tucked away in a side street. This boutique had a delightful collection of whimsical, fun, tutu styles. My eyes fell upon a gorgeous bright blue tulle tutu. This one was more modern in design, with a flowing, cascading effect and bold, statement layers. Perfect for a performance at the local hall. I was delighted with the vibrant colors and contemporary designs – I'm definitely going to wear this to a fancy fundraising event back in Sydney, No visit to Uralla is complete without a stop at The New England Regional Art Museum, a treasure trove of Australian art history. As I stood amidst the stunning displays, a sense of pride filled my heart. Australia has a rich dance heritage, from its Aboriginal traditions to the pioneering ballet companies that have taken the world by storm. In the heart of the Museum, amidst the contemporary sculptures and Aboriginal art, my imagination took flight as I visualised how a contemporary tutu, something modern and avant-garde, would translate within these very walls. It's an artistic collaboration that I just might attempt in the future. **Later, as the sun began to set, I ventured to Uralla’s breathtaking Warrumbungle National Park. It's a landscape straight out of a fairytale! The imposing mountains, the serene waterways, and the captivating sunsets... there's a certain majesty in this place that compels you to move, to express yourself, and, of course, to wear your favourite tutu! It might seem unconventional to dance amongst the wild landscapes, but as the golden light touched the ancient rock formations, I couldn't resist a few twirls. I felt connected to nature, to the earth itself, my movements taking on an almost primitive sense of grace. The tutu, normally a symbol of delicate femininity, transformed into an emblem of resilience and power, reflecting the spirit of this remarkable place. Uralla may be small, but it has big dreams! The vibrant community here is passionate about the arts, and you can feel it in every corner, in every conversation. I'm proud to have shared my #TutuTuesday adventure with you all. Whether you’re a seasoned dancer or a casual observer, I hope this little journey inspires you to embrace your own passions, seek out beauty in the unexpected, and of course, always, always, be bold and beautiful in your very own way!
