Tutu Tuesday in Crookwell, New South Wales: A Ballet Lover's Paradise #tututuesday G'day, darlings! It's your girl, Mia, here, back with another post from my adventures in the world of ballet! Today, I'm bringing you a little something special - Tutu Tuesday, but with a Crookwell twist. Yep, you read that right! I took a trip to the quaint, charming town of Crookwell, NSW, and lemme tell you, it's got a lot more going on than you might think! Let's get one thing straight, Crookwell ain't exactly known for its ballet scene. This little town, tucked away in the Southern Tablelands, is more famous for its country hospitality, stunning scenery, and a whole lot of fresh air. But guess what? That doesn't mean ballet can't have a little fun out here too! My Tutu Tuesday adventure started with a bit of a mission - I wanted to find the perfect Tutu-tastic outfit for a day of exploring Crookwell. Now, when it comes to tutus, we're not just talking about your basic, standard, everyday dance school model, darlings! I'm talkin' statement tutus. You know, the kind that make you stand out, like the vibrant, full-bodied tutu with cascading layers of tulle, perfect for waltzing around the town square, or the sleek and sassy pencil skirt tutu for a bit of "high-low" action with my denim jacket and trusty Dr Martens. Crookwell, NSW - Tutu Tuesday Delights: - Crookwell's Hidden Treasure: The heart of my mission was the cute little boutique called "Whimsical Threads," it was a veritable treasure trove of fashion delights, especially for a tutu enthusiast. You've gotta hand it to these rural towns, their little shops hold gems like you wouldn't believe. -A Little Retail Therapy Never Hurts: I snagged the most divine pale pink tutu with a silver glitter trim and the softest, most ethereal fabric you could ever imagine. Seriously, it felt like a dream! Plus, I added some essential accessories like a floral crown and a sparkly ballet flat inspired pair of sandals. They were kinda boho-chic meets ballet meets country town, and let me tell you, this ensemble had heads turning in Crookwell, not in a bad way of course, more of an 'ooh, look at her!' kind of way. -A Spot of Tea and a Tutu: I finished off the day at Crookwell's historic cafe, "The Buttercup". It was the perfect setting for an afternoon cuppa, especially while rocking this magnificent pink creation. Honestly, it was as if the cafe was waiting for me! You see, it had that charming vintage-y vibe that would make even the most hardcore fashionista weak at the knees! The kind of place where they have lace doilies on the tables and serve up homemade scones with jam and cream. Just picture it โ€“ my Tutu-tastic outfit looking fabulous amidst the antique furniture and the aromas of freshly brewed coffee. It was pure #TutTuesday bliss! Crookwell - An unexpected Ballet Haven: It turns out Crookwell is more than just a pretty face, it's got a heart for ballet too! A local group of young ladies formed their own little "Crookwell Dance Studio," where they take ballet, hip hop, jazz, and tap. What's more, the community is really getting behind them, hosting performances, offering funding and providing general support. Talk about community spirit! I met the studio owner, Mrs. Davis, an incredibly warm and passionate lady, who gave me a quick peek into their studio. She spoke about how ballet gives her students confidence and helps them discover their creativity. They showed me their little studio - it was a modest space with mirrors on the walls and a bar for them to practice on. It was a testament to the love for dance in this town, and what an inspiring place for these young ballerinas to grow their skills! Final Thoughts on my Crookwell Tutu Tuesday: Look, my trip to Crookwell may not have been about professional ballet, but it certainly opened my eyes to the joy and magic of dance everywhere, even in a small town. It taught me that passion for ballet transcends geography and even city limits! My heart was full as I took in the spirit of Crookwell's ballet scene and how dance was embraced by the community, making it more than just a form of exercise - it was a genuine art form cherished by locals. So, next time you're thinking of a weekend getaway, I highly recommend Crookwell. You might just find yourself twirling around in a tutu and experiencing your own little slice of ballet heaven. Thatโ€™s all for now, my fellow ballet-lovers. Until next time, keep dancing! #tututuesday #crookwell #newsouthwales #ballet #dance #australianballet #fashion #style #whimsicalthreads #buttercupcafe #crookwelldancestudio #balletlove
