Tutu Tuesday in Grenfell, New South Wales It's #Tututuesday in Grenfell, New South Wales, and you know what that means! For the uninitiated, #Tututuesday is a global movement that encourages ballerinas and tutu enthusiasts to don their best tutus and share their twirling joy with the world. But why Tuesday? Well, as someone who dedicates their life to the grace and artistry of ballet, Tuesday is just a bit of a Tuesday – you're in the thick of the week, you're not quite sure if the weekend is ever coming and you need a little bit of whimsy and joy in your life, right? And who can argue with the magic of a twirling tutu? Living in this little corner of Australia is an absolute privilege for me. I'm fortunate to have grown up amongst a community that embraced the performing arts from the earliest ages and now it's a pleasure to return here in my early 20s. I think everyone should get a chance to experience ballet, not just because it's a stunning and disciplined art form, but also for the benefits it has on strength, balance and flexibility - all qualities important to any aspect of life, right? Now, as I walk around this rural town on #Tututuesday, I see other women, both young and old, rocking their tutus – and not just on Tuesday! From the most delicate romantic tutu with tiers and tiers of layers, to the more classic pointe shoe tutu (you know, the one that just looks like it can leap a skyscraper!) it’s been wonderful to see such a diverse selection of styles worn with pride and sass. And if it takes a bit of tulle and lace to get you feeling like a true prima ballerina, even for a day, then I'm all for it! Here in Grenfell, it's been particularly heartening to see local dancers from Grenfell Ballet Centre participating, adding an extra sparkle to the day! These young dancers are so full of talent and enthusiasm. You can tell they are in their element - not to mention it's a sure sign that ballet is thriving and that these future stars are all set to grace the stages of the future! And seeing so many tutu enthusiasts strutting their stuff with a touch of confidence and joy, reminds me of all the wonderful people who support ballet in Australia. From dedicated dance teachers and parents to the volunteers at local theatre companies - the ballet community is one full of heart. Today, we celebrate this magical piece of fabric that truly transcends generations. The tutu's history is rich and diverse – in classical ballet, it plays a pivotal role as a symbol of movement, beauty, and even romantic love. But who needs those things, really? We just love that a little piece of tulle can transform you! Tutus are for everyone - no matter your shape or size. So, join me in saying a big shout-out to all the amazing tutu-wearers of Grenfell and to every one of you reading this right now – don't be afraid to let your inner ballerina shine, whether you've got fancy steps or not. And, remember, you can celebrate #Tututuesday everyday if you want – you can never have too much tutu! **Here are just a few ideas on how you can rock a tutu in Grenfell this #Tututuesday!** * Grab your friends and organise a tutu parade.
