I’m a bit obsessed with ballet, as you know, and Tutu Tuesday has become a thing - especially on social media. You wouldn’t believe how much fun it is! It's a chance to celebrate the artistry and magic of ballet, while still feeling like a total fashionista. Who doesn't love a little tutu action in their life? And honestly, Goolwa, South Australia, is the perfect setting. The seaside breezes, the charming boutiques, and of course, the vibrant cultural scene are the perfect backdrop for a Tutu Tuesday celebration.
The beauty of Tutu Tuesday is its versatility, honestly! You can take the look from “on pointe” to casually chic in seconds! You could wear a soft, flowy tulle tutu with a classic white t-shirt, a denim jacket and your favourite sneakers for a relaxed afternoon at the beach or out exploring the charming Goolwa streets. We love to do a Tutu Tuesday morning here at my dance studio in the Adelaide CBD! We’re doing something special for our students, especially the younger ones! We let the kids show off their creativity and give them a chance to do what we call “ tutu art.” It’s such a fun and exciting experience, I think even the parents end up taking some shots on their phones - it’s really special.
I always find myself gravitating toward the classic, romantic tulle tutus in pastel shades - pinks, blues, and yellows - they are truly timeless. They flow effortlessly as you move, creating the perfect illusion of delicate movement and graceful elegance.
