Tutu Tuesday in Coldstream, Victoria: A Fashionable Fiesta
Gāday fellow tutu enthusiasts and fashion-forward friends! Itās your girl, Tilly, here, bringing you the latest from the fabulous world of tutus, straight from the heart of Coldstream, Victoria. As you know, Tuesdays are for twirling and strutting our stuff, and this weekās #tututuesday is going down in history! I'm absolutely buzzing with excitement to share my experience.
This weekās Tutu Tuesday in Coldstream, Victoria, was a sight to behold! The sun was shining, the birds were chirping, and the air was filled with the joyful sound of laughter and music. The vibe? Pure and unadulterated fun! We're not just talking about any ordinary tutu-themed event, this was a proper celebration of the beauty and grace of the tutu, and itās a big deal for us ballet peeps down here in the land of the fair dinkum! You know what Iām saying?!
The street was transformed into a whimsical wonderland of frills, feathers and sequins. Tutu-clad dancers of all ages graced the cobblestone pathways, their smiles as radiant as the dazzling displays of colourful fabrics and feathers adorning their tutus. From the traditional to the contemporary, the tutus on show were simply exquisite! I was especially smitten with the Victorian-era romantic tutus ā they exuded an elegant and ethereal beauty that transported me back in time. The classic fluffy tutu is always a crowd pleaser and they were on show in full force, with a variety of colours and embellishments. They were like fluffy clouds come to life!
But the star of the show, in my opinion, was the breathtakingly bold statement tutu crafted from vibrant silk. Imagine an explosion of colour and a symphony of movement. This particular tutu defied all conventions, and yet, it was so perfectly executed, it captured the very essence of tutus: freedom, creativity and artistic expression. I think I mightāve gasped! There were also tutus for the boys and gentlemen - which was simply delightful to see - it proved there is room in the tutu world for all.
A delightful highlight of the day was the Tutu Runway. A stage set up in the park was ablaze with an eclectic collection of designs showcasing different styles and fabrics, it really brought out the individuality and flair of the designers. A special mention to the incredibly talented designers behind the āBeyond the Barreā and āThe Tutu Revolutionā collections, both local Coldstream, Victoria talent and their work really caught my eye. I canāt say more, my tutu-loving heart was bursting!
There were some fab competitions - did I mention prizes?! ā The āTutu-est Outfitā award and the āMost Creative Tutuā award, had all the competitors strutting their stuff in a kaleidoscope of colour. The atmosphere was absolutely electric as we watched each tutu parade down the catwalk, showcasing their own unique and personal interpretations of what it means to wear a tutu! The crowd was totally buzzing! Now, we all know that tutu-wearing is all about unleashing our inner ballerina and this was on full display in Coldstream. But Tutu Tuesday in Coldstream was also about bringing people together, creating a sense of community and sharing our love of all things beautiful.
After a truly wonderful day celebrating tutus, I realised that they are not simply an article of clothing. They are symbols of joy, self-expression, and a celebration of the beauty and grace that we all possess. Iāve got the feels! Don't just twirl around - come join the fun next Tuesday!
