Wee Waa, New South Wales: Tutu Tuesday in the Outback! #tututuesday

G'day, lovelies! This Tutu Tuesday I'm trading in the polished concrete studios of the big city for the red dirt and dusty streets of Wee Waa, NSW. Now, you might be thinking, "Tutus in Wee Waa? Seriously?!" And to that, I say, "Absolutely!" There's something special about rocking a tulle masterpiece amidst the open spaces and boundless horizons of the outback. It's a #tututuesday that's about embracing your inner ballerina wherever you are, no matter how far from the nearest dance school!

Today's look is all about bringing a touch of grace and whimsy to this classic Aussie town. I'm rocking a classic, single-layered tutu in a soft, dusky pink. Think 'desert sunset' vibes. Its flowing layers add a touch of drama against the stark, arid backdrop. It’s not the traditional romantic tutu style. Think the classic Balanchine, and a nod to the strong silhouettes and bold lines that dance icon was famous for. Think power in every whip, powerful jumps and big extensions. I paired it with a fitted black singlet, and some chunky black leather ankle boots - for those long dusty walks. (I love that boots are now a big thing in the ballet world!)

And here's the thing about Wee Waa. It might be small, but it has a heart of gold. People are so down-to-earth and genuinely kind, a vibe that echoes in every little detail of this quirky town. It's the kind of place where you can wander into a shop and leave with a newfound friendship and a hilarious story.

I popped into “The Wee Waa Cafe”, the town's legendary cafe that’s been serving up steaming hot brews and comforting pies since before I was even a twinkle in my Mum’s eye. Their scones are simply divine and a real taste of home. Their menu boasts all the quintessential Aussie café fare – think veggie burgers, good ol’ bacon and egg rolls and all sorts of sweet and savory things. They also serve a mean chicken parmigiana, so don’t leave without giving it a go!

On this #tututuesday, I did some serious tutu-spotting in the Main Street – but only for a few minutes because a tutu doesn't quite cut it when it’s a million degrees out in the outback, especially during the day! The streets of Wee Waa were buzzing with a mix of locals getting ready to work on the farms and people catching up over a hot cuppa, and let's just say my tutu made a few heads turn. You know you’re looking stylish when the ladies on the street give you a little smile of approval - they are always my favorite tutu judges!

So there you have it, folks – Tutu Tuesday is not limited to the big smoke. It’s a celebration of dance and fun, in every corner of the world, including in the heart of Australia, outback style. And what’s the message for this #tututuesday? Break free from expectations! Live life in your own unique style. And most of all, wear what makes you feel empowered and fabulous. So, no matter where your tutu takes you, let it remind you that you are beautiful, bold, and completely, unapologetically yourself.

Love always, [Your name]
